Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

330ml bottle, 8% a/v From an LCBO gift pack Pours a hazy orange colour with a thick, long lasting light tan head. Looks GORGEOUS. The nose is very spicy and reminscent of white beers, likely the yeast im smelling. There is also some malt present. The taste is very spicy and has a solid alcohol backing. Very hoppy as well. The taste is like a white beer that has been very generously dosed with hops. Personally I enjoyed this beer very much, but I can also see some people not enjoying it at all. To those people, send me the rest of your Chimay :-).

Pours a mildly hazy golden color, nice pleasant malty aroma that was kind of doughy. Taste was rather spicy with a bitter aftertaste. Nice smooth palate, overall not a bad option.

Nicely spicy aroma and a very interesting mouthfeel, reminds a bit of orval despite not being as good. The foamy head looks gorgeous. This is not one of my favorites but still a very interesting beer with the yeast and hops bringing a lot of originality to this brew.

Delivers a hazy golden orange body with a brilliant three fingers of foam that is extremely compact (very meringue-like) Nose is dominated by orange and spice with some white muscat notes also prevailing. Palate is medium bodied but seems quite full, almost creamy. Banana and orange fruit notes are dominant with substantial spice, namely anise. There is also a hint of white pepper present that compliments the spice in adding to a slightly dry, earthy finish.
