COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz (beer-pages.com/protz/features/chimay.htm) and John White (www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/chimay.html)

Aroma deliciosamente cítrico. Cor dourada. Espuma cremosa e duradoura! Sabor tipicamente trappista! Desce muito bem! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Haven't like the other chimay's that I've tried.... But this one had good ratings so here goes: light smell, light taste. Not terrible, pretty decent compared to the others I've had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Medium to heavy body filled with malty sweetness. The smell is too light but has hints of citrus and yeast. Foamy head that stands for a bit and leaves marks on the glass.

Bottle pours a hazy gold with a full white head, marginal lacing. Nose is yeast, orange, slight hops. Taste is a bit astringent, bittersweet and a hint of hops. Some pale ale character, which is a testament to the alcohol masking. I expected a bit more fruit in this one.

Very malty, low hop bitterness, incredibly yeasty in flavor and aroma, Good mouthfeel, drinkable, but not excellently so.

Light and foamy from the tap. Crisp, almost sour flavor for a tripel. Gets more complex and fruity as it sits. A nice tripel for sure.

Starts with a high quality appearance with good lacing. Aromatic leading into a hoppier than anticipated initial taste. Slight sweetness but predominantly bitter...ends smooth.

33cl bottle. Appearance: clouded blonde beer, big stable head. Nose: oranges, hops, some grain, some bitterness, lemon. Taste: dry and bitter finish, fruity start, some spices, lots of hops. Very nice drinking beer.
