COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz (beer-pages.com/protz/features/chimay.htm) and John White (www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/chimay.html)

On tap at the Cork & Tap at Bellevue Village QFC. Delicious, easy drinking Trappist Trippel. Perfect carbonation. Chimay does not disappoint.

Pours a hazy golden body with white head. Aroma is citrus-ish. Tastes of yeast, caramel, a bit bitter hops and some maltyness. The 8% alcohol is also dominating the flavour. You?ll be willing to do a monk after finishing one or two of these.

A bit hazy, golden color with huge fluffy head. Intense yeast aroma with sweet hints. Taste has also all the belgian yeast specific esters. Bubblegum and boozy fruits come to my mind. Carbonation is on the high side and alcohol is a bit too present for my taste.

God smag af tripel, den har varme fra alkoholen, og har en karamel smag også over sig.

Awesome Tripel. In my perspective, this is what a tripel should taste like! Yeasty, citrus tones and some creamyness...

Bottle 33 cl. A hazy amber colour with a small frothy head. An aroma of bread, hay, citrus, herbs and alcohol. The taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter. Low carbonation.

Very bubbly beer with durable white foam. It has a refreshing scent of light soft fruit, yeast and light malt. It has many yeast residues at the bottom, but it does not scare me to get those extra vitamins in my glass. The taste is tart, characterized by citrus and fullness. The taste of yeast are not around, like malt and hops are in fine balance. The alcohol is present and leave a little warmth in the mouth. It’s a really nice triple, though in terms of taste it is in the light end.
