COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz (beer-pages.com/protz/features/chimay.htm) and John White (www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/chimay.html)

Pours a slightly dark hazy amber, thick white head, some lacing. Nice, crisp, surprisingly rich, dry, yeasty, almost wine-like fruits in terms of flavor. Very good beer.

Pours a hazy golden with a big and foamy white head. Malty aroma of orange, caramel and some spice. Medium body, thick feel, average carbonation. Taste is suprisingly dry with hops, grass, yeast and black pepper. Long and quite bitter finish.

33 cl bottle served in tulip. A classic classic. Pours blurry, hazy yellow. Earthy aroma of yeast, fruits and spices. Balanced taste in the same direction with a discrete bitterness. Another piece of evidence for the fact that good beer is not necessarily brewed by pretentious hipster douchebags. <3

Nærmest lidt rødgylden med tæt hvidt skum. Krydret, cremet og kraftig. Meget bitterhed i eftersmagen.

Butelka 330ml (12.2019).

330 ml bottle. Pours dark golden with a large frothy white head. The aroma is rather faint, yeasty and some fruity notes (stone fruits). Medium to full body with quiet lively carbonation. and an alcoholic finish. The taste is pretty sweet and heavily malty (caramel) with some bitterness and fruity aromas coming in course of the tasting - dried fruits and stone fruits, honey. Very nice one.
