Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz (beer-pages.com/protz/features/chimay.htm) and John White (www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/chimay.html)

Very bubbly beer with durable white foam. It has a refreshing scent of light soft fruit, yeast and light malt. It has many yeast residues at the bottom, but it does not scare me to get those extra vitamins in my glass. The taste is tart, characterized by citrus and fullness. The taste of yeast are not around, like malt and hops are in fine balance. The alcohol is present and leave a little warmth in the mouth. It’s a really nice triple, though in terms of taste it is in the light end.

hay, alcohol, hazy golden with a soapy head at first. some bitterness ,has a lot of sediment going around in the bottle so keep it upright if your do not want all that yeast. A decent triple that tastes like a triple.

Deep golden, cloudy, beautiful creamy head, perfect lacing. Spicy aroma of Belgian yeast. Fruity. Grainy malts in the background. Fine. Medium body. No alcoholic feel. The flavour is malty, spicy. Smooth bitterness growing to the ending. Surprisingly refreshing for that ABV. Delicous. Not very complex but very elegant. Excellent.

Heerlijke triple. Staat op het zelfde niveau als mijn favoriet karmeliet. Lange afdronk. Heerlik fris citrusvruchten.

Aroma: Fruity, mild hops, yeast. Appearance: Turbid golden/amber beer with a huge white foamy head. Taste/Palate: Starts with fruit, hop and yeast. Slowly moves to a more sweet honey. Ends dry and bready. Overall: A really good tasting triple, but lacks the complexity of other triples.
