Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz (beer-pages.com/protz/features/chimay.htm) and John White (www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/chimay.html)

Tasted from the bottle 750 ML with Marc. This is my favorite from the three pack. Nose is not as good as the rest. This is a great beer! Orange golden cloudy color. Long lasting white head. Fruity with pineapple taste but good balanced hops and 8% alcohol. Smooth and easy to drink for a quality drink. F Avey---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

En bouteille. Superbe couleur orange, tête magnifique bien blanche qui dure... Nez de malts et de bananes. Sucrée en bouche, amertume très douce. Amertume qui reste sur un final long. Alcool bien caché. Une excellente trappiste.

With the ’modern’ Chimay signature nose this sweet smelling lightish russett coloured beer squeezes itself into the triple catehory. Some complexity and carby acidity is evident but this lacks definition and comes across as somewhat four square.

Aroma of malt, chestnut and wheat. Hazy pale amber orange body with a foamy white head and a long lace. Taste of wheat, malts, banana-bread, mostly malty flavors. Bittersweet aftertaste. Medium body with a slick texture, soft carbonation and very noticable alcohol

pours a light golden with a white head that produces Belgian lacing. It has a heavy smell of spices and floral elements. There is some yeast elements to it with citrus and bread. It has flavors of spice, earthly elements, bread, citrus and floral hops. The carbonation is fairly high and it has a dry finish.

25 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy dark gold color with a vigorous white head. A light hoppy/sour aroma is present. Medium body, lots of carbonation on the tongue. Taste is a nice combination of hops, malt and a touch of sourness. Finish is slightly sour. Excellent!

Pours golden yellow with big frothy white head, good lacing. Nose finds honey, fruits (mainly peach, bit of citrus), bread, Belgian yeast. Taste is rather bitter, a bit sour even, some liquorice in the finish, spices, a hint of pepper, oak. Medium sweet, medium to high bitter. Body is medium, palate is oily, carbonation is high. Very nice.

0,25l from on tap at a pub in caorle italy. Orange hazy colour, small white head. smells of peach, spices, flowery, perfume, some herbs, yeasty. medium to full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of peach, spices, belgian yeast, some sweetness, herbal, flowery, tobacco. finishes quite balanced with some belgian yeast and notes of spices, a but flowery and peach. quite nice one, great balance, just enough flavor to keep it interesting (there are quite a few beers of the style that are rather boring)
