Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz (beer-pages.com/protz/features/chimay.htm) and John White (www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/chimay.html)

Chimay Blanche is perhaps the most classic of the set, but it surely is not the worst. Once again, you’ll find that specific, somewhat bitter but very enjoyable taste, but with a most traditional approach than the other ones. No fruits like the red one, not as charged as the blue one, this one is lighter to me, and surely is a great beer for any occasion. APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW !

Usually I don’t like Blanche, too safe, like Wieckse Witte (Heineken). I like this one. Taste? I would say "hay/cereal" Well they say that it’s real Trappist from Baileux. They also like it in France. France North of course. Below the La Canche river they are beern00bs just like me. ;) --- irgendwie "unspeziell". Konfuzzi from Freiburg wrote that. I think he’s right, but yet I liked it better than most whites coming from the former BENELUX.

Dark golden appearance with some creamy head. Complex tastes of brown sugar, caramel and dried banana. Heavy body, smooth carbonation and a finish of dried banana. Good, but not overwhelming

Golden colour with a thick foamy head. The aroma has some citrus notes, yeast and sweet fruits. Aroma is mostly bitter, some banana and apricot. The bitterness stays long time in the mouth. Full-bodied. Completely enjoyable, but I personally would prefer the red to this.

pours a thick white head with butter, faint jasmine and yellow flowers aromas. Hazy and dark gold colored body. thick and longly bitter in mouth. nice malted cerals flavors with a long finish. a model of balance for belgian tripel ales with well masked alcohol.

A really nice tripel! Bought the 0.33cl bottle onstead of the 0.75 and kinda regretted it. Hazy colour with a good foam head. Insane aftertase.

Good Belgian trappist beer. Nice smooth flavours and aroma, been trying to emulate this one for ages.
