4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Total Wine in Boca Raton, FL. Snifter. Yellow gold pour with serious haze and some sediment. Thick white fluffy head. Some decent lacing. Aroma of cereal, fruit, raisins, flowers. The taste is initially bread and cereal with an aftertaste of fruit and raisins. The mouth is creamy and carbonated and it does have a fairly bitter, dry finish. So SO good.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is my least favorite Chimay....which means it is better than over 90% of beers anyone will ever have. Pours a hazy straw color with a head that never seems to truly go away. There is always more than a lacing. It is a sweet beer with malt, but there is a slight presence of hops, and a feeling on the tongue that I can only describe as peppery. Unsure if that is the carbonation in it that makes that tongue tip tingle slightly or not.
I have had this a few times, and usually when I get a Trappist beer, this is not the one I choose (Grande Reserve usually gets grabbed first), but I am glad I did grab this one along with some cheeses I bought. Paired nicely and it reminded me that this still is a stellar beer.

Draft. Prefer it from the bottle. Nonetheless, my favorite from Chimay.

Pours golden amberish with big white head. Aroma is orange, lemony, some muscat, maybe honey, yeasty. Taste is sweet with some bitternes in aftertaste. It is beautiful to drink, goes really smooth. Great balance in this one, awesome.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Well-balanced, spicy, tasty and great trappist beer. Really heavy too, but you don’t feel that until later on... Candylike aroma, and really well balanced bitter taste. Fruity as well, and the aftertaste is great.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This beer is a bit more roasty than the Blue label Chimay. The darkness makes it odd to pair with food, so consider drinking this one with some dark chocolate or by itself.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a hazy light-honey color. Big, persistent, foamy head. Smells of muscat grapes and sourdough bread. Strong, yeasty, malty palate. Overall, nicely balanced and a classic in the style.
