Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz (beer-pages.com/protz/features/chimay.htm) and John White (www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/chimay.html)

I love the cloudy secret look of this beer. the head is thick and rich, aroma full of promises. Taste is full of fruits, honey, almonds and cinnamon even. Dry and bitter finish, almost salty. A great beer.

Tasted in Brussels. Quite a nice tripel this one, but I’ve had several better.

Draft. Cloudy, amber, generous head. Somewhat complex flavors, but hard to describe. Kind of boring finish.

Easier to drink than the red and blue. Unfortunatly I can find only the 75ml bottle which is a little too much for me at once. I tried what was remaining the day after, and even if aroma and taste were still not bad, the beer had almost lost all the fizziness as expected.

Bottle 0,33. Golden color. Fruity, yeasty aroma. Sour. Long bitter aftertaste. Refreshing.

0.33 bottle. Cloudy, amber color and a medium, white head. Complex aroma: flowers, honey, citruses, spices, resin, delicate coriander, and unfortunate skunky notes. Taste is obviously sweet, again honey and flowers though the other flavors are less perceptible. Medium body, slick texture, and above average carbonation. Finish is not as complex as the aroma, one might even call it simplistic in comparison; introduces a delicate bitterness. Overall quite a good beer, yet it pales in comparison to its Red and Blue brothers.

Golden sparkling hazy body and a thick rocky white head. Nice fresh and sweet aroma of apricot, spruce, honey, cereal. The taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long bitter finish. Sticky and creamy texture.

Corpo médio, final longo e bem carbonatada. No retrogosto é possível perceber algumas especiarias e um agradável amargor. Um clássico, cheers!!!

Great hoppy aroma with almost acidic undertones. Freshness. Like it better than the red Cimay.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2015 A wonderful tripel. Loads of carbonation. Made me burp almost immediately. So light like a cloud at times. Perfect balance of crisp yeast and hop bitterness as well as delicate fruit (apricot or grapes) undertones. Very dry finish. Lots sticking around on your palate. At times like a white wine. Banana or bubblegum in the aroma. Leaves your mouth super oily. Terrific. Why did it take me so long to drink this? On tap at a Belgian beer festival in Budapest.

Gylden brun klar med lavt hvitt skum. Lukter frukt, belgisk gjær og lett karamell. Smaker karamell, lett anis, noe bitterhet. Kjenner også alkoholen. Fyldig søt avslutning.
