COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz (beer-pages.com/protz/features/chimay.htm) and John White (www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/chimay.html)

Bought a bottle at Albert Heijn. Has a light hazy golden color with a large white head, is perfectly carbonated. Has a strong yeasty aroma like bread dough, gras and hops with a little citrus fruits and oranges. Taste of apples and some citrus. Also has a little bitter with some species and is light grassy because of the hops. The aftertaste is warm and intens and has a light bitter. Afterall, a very nice Abbey Tripel, but the trappist Westmalle is just a little better.

Colore dorato, schiuma cremosa. Odore fruttato e caramellato. Corposa, sapore dolce e fruttato (qualcosa che ricorda lo spumante), finale secco.

Pours a hazy gold with a foamy white head and lacing. It has a rich aroma with spicy hops, raisins and stone fruit, coriander, and malt. The flavor is spicy fruit and malt up front with a coriander, cinnamon, and malt backbone followed by a dry finish over a medium body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden, medium-bodied, thick ivory head. Nice aromas of red apple, pastry, toffee, a balsamic tinge. Powerful, fresh and fizzy. Robust and well developed. A little bitterness in the end. The after-taste brings some citrus notes. Very well done.

Pours a cloudy copper towards the end of the bottle, huge white head. Very fruity, yeasty and malty bouquet. Orange zest, spices, herbs, a hint of banana chips. The palate is medium+ bodied with a hint of boosy heat, low bitterness, slight sweetness and a pretty long finish. Very good tripel, in my oppinion this is comparatively higher quality than the blue Chimay acctually. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
