COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz (beer-pages.com/protz/features/chimay.htm) and John White (www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/chimay.html)

11.2 bottle. Great looking golden/orange w/ a large white head. Strong nose of yeast, hops, and alcohol. The taste is sweet, alcoholic, then lingers with an odd hop bitterness. At first it was overpowering, almost metallic, but it get less intrusive and finishes nicely.

Just getting around to rating this one. Good abbey tripel that’s pretty widely available at bars in the states.

Nice white head, staying throughout the drink, and golden colour. Aroma of alcohol, citrus and banana. Nicely bitter and refreshening. Lively fitting carbonization.

On-tap poured into Chimay chalice. Good appearance: pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a large frothy white head, nice lacing on the glass. Banana, citrus and spicy aromas. Taste is very balanced, sweet, light fruitiness, slightly bitter finish, alcohol is pretty hidden. Medium bodied, high carbonation. Great brew.

The aroma is subtle with a blend of sour fruit and caramel malts, but the appearance is very gorgeous with its opaque and cloudy dark orange color, its medium white head with amazing retention, and the medium-grain sediment that sinks towards the bottom of the chalice. The taste is mildly sour and slightly sweet, and the palate combines a lively carbonation, medium body, thick texture, and a long astringent finish.

Presence of phenolic components and some fruit (peaches). Great taste with notes of clove and bitter from hops dry finish that asks for one more sip.

On tap at The Mayor of Old Town. Golden color and slightly hazy with lacy white head. The aroma is crisp with pepper, spices, Belgian yeast, fruit, earthy/leafy and light bitter hops. Similar flavor with a medium body and a smooth feel. Always a good decision ;)

Poured from 330mL bottle. Hazy orange-ish yellow with full white head, fairly active. Rich caramel, yeast, and malt on the nose. Mild sweetness to start, followed by bitter yeast with some nice spice and wood notes. Mildly dry finish.

0,33 Bottle. Giant longlasting head. Fruity aroma. Floral, bitter longlasting taste. It was better couple a years ago from big Bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
