COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz (beer-pages.com/protz/features/chimay.htm) and John White (www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/chimay.html)

An absolute fruit boat of an ale. The aroma is all apples with a hint of cinnamon. There’s a fair amount of bitterness when it rolls over the tongue--and definitely the sweet taste of a pear. The finish is a puckering dryness. Really a treat worthy of breaking out for the Super Bowl. Go Packers! (They’re not in it? Oh. Sorry.)

Crisp fruity nose. Hints of lemon. Pasture appearance. Small head....but it lasts. A small Belgian "Wang" in the aftertaste, but not so much as I remember from previous samplings. A good beer for a meal.

Sweet grapes and grass dominate the nose, backed up by caramel. Pours a hazy orange with a fluffy off-white head. The Muscat grapes are also the forward most flavor followed by grass, lemon, pepper, and dry, peppery, and sticky finish. Chimay’s newest beer also features apples and more hops than the others. You also won’t notice that this is 8% ABV until you’re almost done with it. Another world-class beer from Chimay. Outstanding!

Een triple met een zeer sterke maar droge smaak, vooral mout en hop. Kleur : geel tot donker geel.

Really light for a triple, liked it a lot, although I really expected a little bit better.

blonde color, nice white head, it mainly has a big bitter taste, little bit to agressive for me, as for blonde/triple beers i don’t prefer all the bitterness...

Ottima Tripel, molto maltata in cui si sente notevolmente il classico lievito belga

After a westmalle tripel, this feels more malty. Otherwise similar profiles. Nice hops, good body. Excellent beer overall.
