Bottle shared by Derek. Pours chestnut w white head. Nose is sweet rye w a hint of lemon. Taste is similar w toffee and chocolate hints. Decent but a bit odd.

Bottle. Pours a clear apricot with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a note of musty wood and rye with supporting notes of Belgian yeast. Flavor has flora and light fruits up front with a finish of rye and musty wood.

A - Pours a dark hazy apricot with a dense and creamy head that slowly sinks into a tight knit cap forming a tall sturdy collar.
S - Candied orange peels, rye, hazelnut, soured hay, sweet fruit esters, Belgian candy, green figs, woody amaretto, almost getting hints of cocoa.
T - Follows the nose with oranges, spicy cocoa, Belgian yeast, amaretto, fruity esters of melon, fresh figs, and stone fruit. The rye is very present and seems to have taken on a hazelnut character, some bubblegum comes out as it warms up. Spiciness builds toward the end helping to dry out the sweetness creating a semi-dry finish.
M - Moderate creamy carbonation, full body for the style.
This is an odd duck. The rye is interesting but it’s too sweet for a Saison. Almost more of a BSPA. Fun to drink but not sure it all works together.

750ml bottle gushed then poured a hazy, light caramel with some frothy, white head. Nose is heavy with grain, chewy malts, biscuit, bread, a little dust. Flavor is malty and sweet, bread, a little bitter green, more brett in the flavor than the nose, caramel. Medium bodied, dry finish.

750 bottled. Pours hazy dark gold with a small with head. Nose is very yeasty, with a bit older stale hops. Taste is the same. Not full flavored. Musty. Alcohol is well hidden. Not exactly a saison. Just OK. It’s what is expected from Choc.

750mL thanks to beerandblues2. Full haze, muddier dark orange pour. Very thick beige foam. Big retention and lacing. Nose is heavy esters, banana, compost, dense spelt/rye flakes. Taste is dusty, heavy wheat bread crust, Biere de Garde in profile with malt overload. Palate is drained for Biere de Garde with lemon tea thinning. Overall, good but not a saison. Biere de Garde would be apt.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a medium, fizzy off-white head, medium retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is earthy rye malt with earthy and herbal hops, barnyard yeast and toast malt with pear and apple esters. Flavor is rye malt dominant with light hops and bitterness, barnyard yeast, fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
