The 2010 Wild Brew is a collaborative effort between Choc Beer Co. and Marshall Brewing Co., brewed in recognition of the annual Wild Brew festival in Tulsa Oklahoma. The result is a Belgian-style IPA reflecting the strengths and spirits of both breweries. This limited release soars with balanced malts and complex yeast before landing smoothly with a dry slightly hoppy finish.

22 ounce bomber. Pours a light golden amber with a nice foamy head reminscent of shaving cream. Smells of bananas with some pineapple in the background. Surprisingly creamy mouthfeel with the Belgian yeast very present. Finishes with fruity hop notes. More spiciness the longer you drink it. I’ve had Belgian IPAs in the past that seem disjointed, but this actually works nicely. I like the comibination of the mealy Belgian yest followed with the floral hops. Not bad at all.

This was a nice surprise! .. pours a medium gold, with great foam, lacing is killer! .. . has some light spice with a good citrus/ yeast battle, but subdued, very fun to drink .. . hope they do more of this... Would you please put some pants on? I feel weird having to ask you twice.

Bottles. Hazy orange color/ lingering off white head. Nice dry hay, spicy belgian yeast aromas with subtle floral hops. smooth medium body. Fruity, spicy sweet flavors at first, turns to dry oily peppercorn, spicy dry hops, on a solid earthy pale malt base, nice belgian style brew.

Thanks to Josh for sharing. Pours a hazy golden orange with a medium creamy bubbly off white head. ARoma of tropical fruits, lots of citrus, light alcohol, lots of floral character and Belgian fruity yeast. Flavor of tropical fruits, fruity Belgian character, nicey dryness and orangey hops.

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange color. Thick, pillowy white head with good retention. Aroma is Belgian yeast, circus peanuts and a hint of floral hoppiness. Flavor is candi sugar and grassy hops. Dry, slightly alcoholic finish. Not an every day type of beer, but a very solid collaboration.

Poured a cloudy golden color with a solid white head and good lacing. The aroma is dominated by yeast, esters and spice. The flavor was yeast and spice and slightly fruity. Medium in body with some alcohol sneaking out towards the end it was a pretty nice effort. Much more likely to be confused with a hefeweizen than an IPA. Should be a Belgian Ale, not an IPA.

An interesting Belgian-style IPA. Subtle aroma of piney/herbal hops with a background of malt and some fruity esters from the Belgian yeast strain. Flavor is similar, with a bit more pronounced hop presence. Overall a decent brew.
