Bomber. Poured clear garnety amber with rising carbonation and a short-lived tan head. The aroma picked up warm molasses, raisins, figs, and a bit of cabernet character.. maybe a bit aggressive with the sugars, but they masked the alcohol well. The flavor found molasses, raisins, and a hit of honey on the sweet core.. sour malty character (same stuff as before) and more residual sugars on the edges and through the finish.. messy at the end with lots of sweetness fighting sour notes and amplified by alcohol. Medium-plus bodied on the palate with low-ish carbonation.. didn’t flow any better than OK.. brash for the style, but drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with almost no head. No real aroma to speak of, other than sweet alcohol notes. Not much going on with this one as far as taste goes, it is syrupy sweet, with little flavor character. I love Belgian Quads, this one just doesn’t fit the bill.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
[Bottle] Pours a dark brown color with a soda pop look to it. The head was beige and quite thin. A honey sweetness and sweet other malts in the nose. The taste is of brown sugar, molasses, toffee, root beer, dark fruits and light alcohol. Moderate carbonation levels. The body could have been a little more robust here. Otherwise a pretty nice beer.

Thanks to AmericanBrew for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a light brown color with a tan head. The aroma is brown sugar, chocolate and sour apples. The flavor is sugar, toffee, apples and licorice. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not one of my favorite quadrupels, but not a bad beer.
