3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: Pours a dark brown body with a thin, short-lived, beige head.
Smell: Notably fruity aromatics and traces of wafting fusel alcohol give an impression of low-grade liqueurs with secondary notes of toasted pumpernickel, cracked cloves, syrup, and cocoa.
Taste: Tastes of dark this and dark that - dark fruitiness of figs, plums, and lightly tart dark cherries, dark unrefined sugars, toasted dark bread, and sweet dark caramel. Particularly sweet throughout. Sprinkling of cocoa, spicy cloves, and powdered anise. Shot of coarse alcohol slips in in time for the heated, sweet finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium-low carbonation. Decidedly sticky mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Some beers are heavenly, others are just heavy. Heavy body, heavy sweetness, and heavy on the alcohol. It makes for slow work. While it’s not my first-hand choice for a quad, I suppose it is technically the best Belgian-style Quad brewed in Oklahoma.

Got this on the rotating handle tap (in a pint glass for $5.50!) at James E. McNellie’s Public House, OKC. Murky brown with a smattering of bubbles. Aromas of red wine, raisin, plum, cocoa and toffee. Tastes of dates, plums, red wine grapes, spicy toffee, and a touch of cocoa . Medium body has light carbonation and is to a bit to the sweet and boozy side, but still pretty drinkable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz. bottle. Pours a deep caramel brown color with a small beige film. The nose is overly sweet with caramel and candi sugar mixed with ripe fruits and raisins. The flavor is more of the same; sweet caramel, overly ripe fruits, sugary with very little carbonation. Very one dimensional.

0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Oh my, where to begin. First off, no carbonation at all. I thought I might have gotten a bad bottle until I read some other reviews. Pours a murky brown with no head. The aroma is rubbing alcohol and a bit of caramel. If I’d rubbed it on my wifes back, I might have gotten something out of it. The flavor is like bad medicine. The finish is sickly sweet and sticky. I can’t believe I drank the 22 but I never pour a bad beer down the drain although this is as close as I’ve come.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle - liquor express - pours a blackish brown with no head. Aroma is boozy with a side of meat. Taste is sweet and boozy. Palate is dry and boozy. Frankly, the last time I was drinking something this boozy, it had cheap vodka in it. Pass.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from liquor express. Pours brown without a lot of head. Big notes of alcohol on the nose and a slight hint of Belgian yeast. Mouth is a quad bready but mainly alcohol. The reviews are spot on on this one, it’s not very good for the style.

12oz FL bottle. I couldn’t pass up a quadrant from Oklahoma. Very still, murky brown pour with no head. Sweet, slightly boozey aroma with hints of raisons and dates. Flavor is close to style but overly sweet. Okay.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle. Pours like its flat; hazy brown with a few bubbles. Nose is brown sugar, plum brandy and raisin. Soft medium body but no carb. Still OK for sipping; like an unfiltered cider. Taste is apple juice, cinnamon and wood finishing with grapefruit peel and green banana.
