COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Belgian-style Quad is influenced by the grandest of the Trappist or Abbey ales. This version, based on our gold medal winning Belgian Style Dubbel is a complex mix of premium malt, esters and alcohol combined with our expressive House Blend of Belgian yeast. Oh my, where to begin. First off, no carbonation at all. I thought I might have gotten a bad bottle until I read some other reviews. Pours a murky brown with no head. The aroma is rubbing alcohol and a bit of caramel. If I’d rubbed it on my wifes back, I might have gotten something out of it. The flavor is like bad medicine. The finish is sickly sweet and sticky. I can’t believe I drank the 22 but I never pour a bad beer down the drain although this is as close as I’ve come.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a deep caramel brown color with a small beige film. The nose is overly sweet with caramel and candi sugar mixed with ripe fruits and raisins. The flavor is more of the same; sweet caramel, overly ripe fruits, sugary with very little carbonation. Very one dimensional.

Bottle - liquor express - pours a blackish brown with no head. Aroma is boozy with a side of meat. Taste is sweet and boozy. Palate is dry and boozy. Frankly, the last time I was drinking something this boozy, it had cheap vodka in it. Pass.

Bottle from liquor express. Pours brown without a lot of head. Big notes of alcohol on the nose and a slight hint of Belgian yeast. Mouth is a quad bready but mainly alcohol. The reviews are spot on on this one, it’s not very good for the style.

12oz FL bottle. I couldn’t pass up a quadrant from Oklahoma. Very still, murky brown pour with no head. Sweet, slightly boozey aroma with hints of raisons and dates. Flavor is close to style but overly sweet. Okay.

22 oz bottle. Pours like its flat; hazy brown with a few bubbles. Nose is brown sugar, plum brandy and raisin. Soft medium body but no carb. Still OK for sipping; like an unfiltered cider. Taste is apple juice, cinnamon and wood finishing with grapefruit peel and green banana.

12 oz bottle. Pours danky brown with no head. Nose is very sweet candi sugar with some alcohol present. Taste is sort of a sugary candy-water, with some alcohol and caramel thrown in. Alcohol is present. A really sickening sweetness in the beer just kills it for me. Drain pour.

12 oz. bottle from Midtown Liquor in Tulsa. Pours a cloudy brown color with some orange highlights on the edges and a tiny off-white head that’s basically just a ring. Aroma of licorice, cinnamon, booze, raisins, candi sugar, and caramel- it all amounts to something like Goldschlager and/or Good ’N Plenty candy. Same goes for the flavor but it’s milder than the nose in terms of heat and spice; it’s more sweet and malty with some dark fruits. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation and a boozy, malty mouthfeel. One-dimensional quad, and that single dimension is pretty strange.
