COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The German city of Leipzig is home to one of the world’s most unusual styles: Gose (pronounced "goes-ah"), a tart wheat brew. Despite a centuries old lineage, this eclectic brew recently faced extinction. We pay tribute to this style’s rich history by using premium German pilsner malt, wheat, a dash of coriander and salt. The sourness and dry finish are the perfect treat on a hot summer day. Cheers, Michael Lalli

Sampled at GABF 2012 with Moreau and Andrew. Pours a light body with thin white lacing. Aroma is light tartness and faint fruit, pretty plain. Mouthfeel is slightly tart with notes of sour fruit, spice and a touch of salt. Ok Gose.

Thanks to drabmuh for bringing this bottle to compare with the Cascade Winter Gose. Served in a SAVOR wine glass. The pour yields a medium golden brew with a nice fizzy white head and a bit of lacing on the way down. The nose carries a good dosing of coriander and citrus with a bit of salt in the background. The flavor adds quite a bit of salt, though doesn’t take it over the top. Nice coriander and spice plus some orange peel. Light, crisp body with a faint acidity. Nicely done.

Bottle shared by GatorGuy92. Cheers, Matt! Pours a hazy pond water yellow with a dissipating white head. Nose is tart wheat, some salt, mild fruit, and some yeast. Flavor is pretty standard salt and tart wheat with mild fruit. Interesting gose overall. Light to medium in body and lingering salt in the finish.

750ml C&C bottle shared by jcwattsrugger, thanks John. Poured a clear apple cider brown thin to medium flat body and a very small white foamy head. Aroma is a bit odd, notes of vanilla candy, candles, rotting apple, bad fruit. Medium bodied with average carbonation to slightly stronger carbonation that has a lingering sourness on the aftertaste. Taste is more to style with a nice tartness that is not overpowering, like a watered down lemon, along with soft saltiness, some hint of green apple skins and a touch of funkiness and wet wheat. Nice beer but the aroma needs work.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 11/16/11

Aroma: The nose is a little tart, some citrus, a hint of funk, and just a little bit of spice
Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy golden-orange color with a clean looking, foamy white head
Flavor: Tastes quite a bit more sour then the nose would indicate, citrus/lemon, lightly sweet, and salty too
Palate: This one is medium bodied, its a touch watery, and it finishes with a salty tingle on the tongue
Overall Impression: This was an interesting beer. It’s like a much better version of Miller Chill! (I kid, I kid) Sorry, that was mean, it doesn’t really taste anything like Miller Chill, but it is a combination effort of a sour citrus fruit (lemons in this case) and salt, so it has that part in common. I’ll stop with the poor attempt to be funny and just say this: I liked this one, it is rather sour, and a touch salty, but the combination seems to work. It is a touch watery on the mouth, but otherwise has a pretty decent feel. The head has a nice, thick foam on top of it, that looks a little cleaner then the heads of most beers. I’d drink it again, but it isn’t something I’d want to drink in this kind of quantity again anytime soon. A 750 ml bottle of this one is probably better for sharing.

On tap. Lightly hazy and golden with a small head. Aroma of lightly tart cherry, wheat, citrus, and wood. Flavors of cherry toffee, oak, citrus and a bit of fish sauce. Medium body has medium-high carbonation and is well balanced with sweet, salty, sour and umami notes.

Bottle shared, poured a cloudy golden yellow color with aromas of wheat, light fruit, some saltiness, and a touch of wood. Flavors follow suit, light and refreshing, a solid beer over all.
