COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From Brew at Choc’s Home 2010 Winner Jeff Swearengin.

We’re proud to brew Smoked Porter, winner of Brew at Choc’s Home 2010. Jeff’s original brew was chosen not only because of the outstanding quality and complex flavors but also for his creativity and ambition. These are two defining qualities of our Signature Series. We took great care to recreate Jeff’s recipe. So enjoy this beer, keep brewing, and look forward to Brew at Choc’s Home 2011.
Cheers,
Michael Lalli.

22oz bottle. I liked this beer. It’s a nicely crafted porter with good dose of meaty smokiness. It pours dark brown with a quickly disappearing head. Smokey flavor and a nice creamy texture make it very enjoyable.

Bomber. Pours a ruby almost black with a tan quickly diminishing head. Uncomplicated aroma of chocolate, smoke, and roasting ham. Flavor is malty, aggresive smokiness, with a suggestion of bourbon. Although a touch thin bodied, finishes with a touch of creaminess. Very nice

Shared by someone at the most recent Freetail bottle release party. The beer pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is definitely smokey with a lot of meaty BBQ notes. The flavor is more of the same. There is a heavy smoke character that goes very well with some heavily roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice smoked beer where the smoke is up front and shines.

Bottle courtesy of a very generous trader. Served in a tulip. Pour yields a very dark brew with a good off-white head and some lacing as it moves down the glass. The nose contains a good amount of smoke plus some roasted malt, mild coffee, and a wee bit of very dark chocolate. Good start. The taste isn’t quite as integrated and doesn’t do as much for me, but pretty good and I’d certainly come back to it. Nothing overpowering, just a nice, balanced beer with some smoke complexity added. Mouthfeel is medium with a good dryness in the finish. Drinks quite well. One of the best Krebs beers I’ve had to date. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-08-2011

The aroma is smoky and a bit sweet/tangy/ The smoke porter pours dark chestnut brown with a decent light tan head. The flavor of smoked malts shines through nicely on a good medium palate, there is a nice creaminess too this porter that you don’t expect.

Bottle at RBWG 2011 Grand Tasting, thanks to AmEricanbrews. My last rating of RBWG, damn that was a lot of backlog! Pours clear black/brown, thin tan head, solid lacing. Nose is bacon, ham, smoke, tobacco, ash. Flavours of bacon, smoke, tobacco, roast. Just great. A really nice Smoked Porter!

Somewhat green but smokey smelling, dark brown beer...thin head. Smokey flavors...little tinny, little acidic and metallic though....little thin on the palate as well. The smoke would have been nice, but its just too thin, really.
