COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This inky, black ale was brewed with a healthy dose of chocolate malt and milk sugar. but that wasn’t good enough...we then infused this beer with 20 lbs of organic Ecuadorian cacao nibs, cinnamon, and Tahitian vanilla bean for a rich, satisfying flavor. Dessert in a glass? Maybe...heck...have it for breakfast!

Overlooked review of this presentable Porter that I tasted a few months back in the bar at RB-Yorktown but didn’t have all the commercial info to enter at the time as I thought it was the return of the Nibs Porter. Mug Club dispensed with a black/brown hue, light tan bubbles & cream head foam, and curtainy cling to the lacing. The nose was roasty, with caramel, a touch of vanilla, cocoa, and a dry & slightly burnt coffee scent at the back. The flavor also offered some light sweetness, smooth malt, moderate bitterness, and a pleasant creaminess to the mouthfeel. The body was medium to full, and the finale was crisp with some moderate dryness.

Had on tap at Rock Bottom Lombard. Served in a nonic pint. A: Pours a dark black color with a creamy tan head forming on the pour. It dissipates to a thin cap and leaves some sticky webbing of lace down the glass. S: Some bakers chocolate, light coffee bean and heavily roasted malts. T: Sweeter milk chocolate. Coffee bean and vanilla. Mild lactose sugar sweetness with a heavily roasted malt body carrying the sweetness throughout each sip. M: Medium bodied with a medium to high semi-prickly carbonation. Creamy feel to it. O: This was a very solid porter. The taste was nice, but the nose was a slight let down. Glad it picked back up.
