Tap @ Frothy Beard, 1st Anniversary. Pours black. Aroma of roast and toasted coconut. Flavor of roast. Finishes with notes of coconut oil. Makes my lips feel soft. (4020)

On tap at Craftsmen. Pours a dark brown/black with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate malt, lightly medicinal. Flavor is more chocolatey with roast as well. An ok chocolate stout, I wasn’t really impressed. 5/4/6/3/11 (2.9/5)

Went to the brewery for a four beer flight and ended up with a mini-growler of this one to take home. Nothing dissapointing but this one stands out. Deep, dark, rich, subtle chocolate notes, balanced tartness and low CO2 make this a perfect winter sipper. Nice head on this one too- decent retention for a small pour. Not super heavy for a stout but definitely not a summer beer. Well balanced, tasty and really interesting. A winner. Could have even more chocolate notes and I wouldn’t complain.
