This extraordinary beer brewed solely from Czech aromatic hops possesses a distinct gold colour, pleasant hop bouquet and full malt taste with a touch of gentle bitterness. Zámecký Lager Speciál fermenting 2 – 3 months in stock tubs of our unique rock cellar is an example of supreme art of our brewers. A specialist committee appraised its quality and the lager was awarded the “Prize of Czech Brewers 2000”.

.5l Bottle from ’Only Rare Beers’ in Budapest. Another great Czech selection for this amateur. Pours a rich amber with tight white head. Very bold and smooth sip that sours with some alkaline notes. Maybe a bit soapy. Very balanced and sweet amber malt Pils body. Could drink this big sip after big swig. Quite tasty but not quite refined. Too much harsh metal in the hoppy bitter finish.

From bottle. Thanks to Armando, that is Gergely. Golden colour with frothy head. Creamy buterscotch aroma. The butterscotch prevents anything else to come through, which is a shame. Sweet malt and butterscotch blend together, after is a sticky sensation. Low on hops, low bitterness. Light body. Bad example of a Czech pilsner here.

Tükrösen tiszta,sötétebb aranysárga színű sör amin hósipkaként fekszik egy fehér,vastag buborékos hab,ami lassan elolvad szép csipke függönyt hagyva a pohár falán.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2010 Light aroma of floral hops and herbs. Fizzy mostly diminishing white head, but nice deep golden body . Dry bitterness, good thick body for a pilsner is so rare. Hops are also dominating the flavour.Great pils. A bit too dry for my palate. My mouth run dry, so i have to take another one.

Appearance: Pale golden color with tiny, lively bubbles and a huge frothy white head with some nice lace around. Aroma: Tipical, fresh grainy malts with bready and nutty quality and a hint of hop spiciness. Flavor: Very bready, grainy malty character, almost salty crackers-like. Moderate sulphurous yeasty notes. Maybe some faint lighter fruits from the background. Sharp, crisp hoppy edge at the finish. Mouthfeel: Perfectly smooth, nice balance between the malts and hops. The carbonation level is thirst quenching with natural, small bubbles. Overall: Enjoyable czech-pils! Not as vibrant in the hop profile as expected, but well-balanced and pure, tasty bohemian one.

Classic lager appearance with a golden body and a medium, delicious, fine and froathy white head that diminishes slowly with laces on the glass. Fine bready malt based sourish aroma, flowery hops. Smooth mouthfeel, rich body. Malt based flavor with mild carbonation, fine character of bottom-fermentation, nice flowery hop flavor. Complex palate, fine hoppy-malty aftertaste. One of the best lager what i’ve ever tasted!

Bottle. Pours orangey amber with a thick white head that quickly dissipates. The wonderful aroma is of rich malt, some grassiness, fruit -- virtually no hops. The flavor is nicely layered: more rich malt, some caramel, fruit. It is rather sweet, but not overly so, and well balanced with some light hops that come on toward the end. The mouthfeel is creamy. All in all, a very satisfying, interesting beer. Rich, but not heavy.
