Hazy golden liquid with a fairly tight white head. Aroma of lemony citrus. A wort type aroma just after the hops are added. Grass and herbs. Woodruff is mild and blends well with the sweet wheat flavors. A wit/saison cross. Clean, dry and tart lemony finish. Alcohol is well hidden.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pale golden with some cloudiness and a fairly small, white head. Lovely fruity nose and the fruitiness continues in the flavours which contain a slight honeyish herbal character as well. Not really full-bodied but rather fresh and quaffable. A well made beer indeed. 050599

Head is initially large, frothy, white, fully diminishing. Body is dark yellow, dense medium sized particles, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately hoppy (flowers, citrus - lemon), moderately yeasty (dough), moderately malty (cookie), with strong spicy elements such as coriander, clove, and ginger, plus some banana character. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, dry and watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Good stuff: bright and complex aroma (somewhat wit-like, but maltier), very good flavor balance (until you get to the end of the bottle, when the yeast starts to take over). A little less yeast in the bottle would help considerably. As it warms, the yeast comes out more strongly, so this is better at cooler temps (mid/upper 40s F).

07.24.06 Bottle dated 2005, must be a best by date, thanks for sharing EDA! Darkish golden beer. Aromas are flowery and herbal with a bit of funk and something lactos-ish sweet. Lovely background bitterness throughout the quaff with peppery and herbal hops, fruity yeasts, and some sturdy biscuit/cookie maltiness. Pretty solid and saison-like brew that I didn’t even realize ever existed and now wish they’d brew again.
