3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ernest (5647) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 18, 2002UPDATED: AUG 4, 2005 Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted bread/grain), lightly hoppy (orange, flowers), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of cardboard, peach, coriander. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly acidic, moderately bitter, somewhat cardboardy. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Wow, I’m amazed this has held up as well as it has...the beauty of bottle-conditioned 750’s, clearly. Yes, there is some oxidation/cardboard in this one, no doubt, but it’s not too strong. My original score back in its day was low 3’s, and I dare say it’s about as good as before (gained some estery fruitiness over time, lost its hoppy edge/freshness, but of course also gained the cardboard). Surprisingly still very drinkable even for me. Neato.

On draft at Sharp Edge Brasserie. Poured hazy gold with fizzy white head. Flavor is grassy with sweet malts, light citrus notes, and yeasty.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 nuplastikk (3353) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 2, 2013
Draft at Brasserie V. Hazy thick unfiltered orange-tan. Massive foamy off-white head. Malty, cherry woody amber malt and Belgian yeast centered. Medium bodied and pretty tame. Some mellow spice tones, orange, cherry esters. Not so memorable or impressive, a Belgian table-beer Amber. Reminds me a lot of Quebec beer in the malt tones.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 otakuden (1704) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 29, 2013
Appearance:
Hazy unfiltered peachy hued bread under a thin, tight white head which leaves light traces of lace in its wake.
Nose:
Freshly sliced peaches and apricots. Cereal grains along the sides. Fruity spices. Curacao orange peel. Grains of paradise. Herbs and grass.
Palate:
Smooth mouthfeel, light and fruity, refreshing. Delicate notes of fresh apricot, peach, and kiwi. Spice is more subdued than in the nose – a shadowy partner. Tropical fruit skins bitterness in the back.
Final Thoughts:
Subtle is the name of the game here – subtle but not boring. Personally, I would prefer more oomph in the flavors present. That’s really the only part of this beer that is lacking. Don’t get me wrong though; I’d drink another if offered.

Hazy amber pour with a white head. Banana, bread, and toasted malt. Nice pear, apple, and some hints of spice and yeast. Banana and bread flavor, some yeast, and a touch of spice. Very heavy on the apple and pear, sort of cidery. Kind of bland, but not bad.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 redpooba (375) - New York, USA - DEC 29, 2012
Dark golden in color with a white head. The aroma of soft-white flowers is the best part of the beer. The flavor is soft at the beginning, the body is absent, and then a lingering of gentle bitterness does not welcome you back for another taste.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Studentofbrrs (82) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 27, 2012
amber in color with a hoppy aroma, hint of fruit, had a citrus flavour with a hop finish, went down like water.... lacked substance

Said to be a lighter version of Chouffe, an idea with potential, I thought. But it struck me as overly sweet, overly herbed, and boozily hot despite the low abv. A car crash in the Ardennes. Leafy coriander and schnapps. Thanks but no.

On tap at Sharp Edge Creekhouse. Light watery aroma with a bit of tang to it. Almost smells like a dirty line but not quite contaminated. Fruity notes, light yeasty character. Hazy medium golden-amber with white foamy lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Mild pilsner malt sweetness with spicy hop presence. Mild finish, kinda watery. Muted bitter undertones.
