Dark amber in color with a medium sized, light, fluffy head. The aroma is a strange combination of sweet citrus fruit, spices, floral and citric hops, honey, white grape, pear, bread, and a surprising bit of medicinal alcohol. Sort of short when it comes to flavor. The fruit that was in the nose seems only very light and hardly noticable. Decent malt for a summer beer. Not incredibly full, but with nice oatmeal cookie and honey wheat flavors. The finish has some spicy hops and dries out rather quickly. A refreshing summer beer, but not my favorite.

Said to be a lighter version of Chouffe, an idea with potential, I thought. But it struck me as overly sweet, overly herbed, and boozily hot despite the low abv. A car crash in the Ardennes. Leafy coriander and schnapps. Thanks but no.

Medium/light amber with a large off-white creamy uneven head. Fresh and crisp with a slight attic cobweb aroma. Taste is light, musty. Nothing really stands out. A good summer beer with food.

Pours deep cooper with thick white head. Nose is caramel toasted malts, caramel, spices. Average carbonation, oily texture. Medium alcoholic and sweet finish. Easy drinkable, but a bit too much on the sweet side. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bouteille, Charlie’s Street Liquor, Boston, Juin 2005
