A great find by Olivier/Clark. Old 750mL. Gorgeous artistic bottle that probably had a few years on it, but seem to have held out quite well besides the oxidation beginning. Light copper hue, mostly lasting off-white head. Pleasant honey-ish maltiness is fairly airy, sweet and nutty in the nose while the remaining hop character can’t hide the once great floral array it must have produced. Accompanying fruitiness (juicy pear, lemon, mango, melon)must have been pretty intense not so long ago. Carbonation is still very intense, lively and fitting. Highly bready yeasty/rye combination works very well in mouth, but it thins rapidly toward the finish, letting oxidized edges come through. It remains very enjoyable despite its advanced age and it was one of those excellent summer moments to savor it under a tricky sunset.

Bottle - sampled from goldtwins bottle, which by it’s expiration date on its side, looks like it is designed to outlast most household pets. Cloudy hazy orange pour. Spicy lemon aroma and very light malts, with a touch of sour. Light malt and light fruit flavors, lemony, and some spice. Oxidation a little evident. A bit acidic, kinda tough to drink a whole lot a once for me.

Sampled on 8/24/05: Semi-hazy golden bronze color has a wispy white head. Lightly spiced and oxidized aroma has a touch of tartness. Semi-full body has some earthy cardboard and mild sweetness with a nice spice balance. Has aged fairly well, but not a beer to be keeping to 2024 like the bottle said.

Bottle at Jan & Charlotte’s tasting, Ulfborg, Denmark 09.04.11 cheers Jan & Charlotte 2000 vintage courtesy of Mads - Dedollewaitor, cheers Mads. Pours quite hazy, in fact very hazy, its more a light brown colour than amber with very little head. Touch of the farmhouse quality about this, tangy, fruity and holding up very well despite its years and relatively low abv. Decent mouthfeel, a little spiciness showing. Nice beer. Draft in snifter. Poured hazy amber color with medium off-white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium tart fruit and yeast aroma. Medium body with a tingly texture and soft carbonation. Medium tart & sour flavor with a medium bitter & sour finish of moderate duration. Soft brew.

11 ounce goblet - $9.00 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: This one is hazy, opaque, and dark orange-amber in appearance with a thin layering of snow white foam. Copious lacing.

Smell: Honey-toned, pale malted, bready malts with little, light touches dried herb, green grapes, lemon rind, and vague florals.

Taste: A sweetish taste of raw, organic honey over cracked pale malts with a light toastiness, and a light caramel quality. Herbal, lowly citrusy hops, very low bitterness. Hint of grapeskin, a bit of pulverized apricot. Drying finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-high carbonation.

Overall: It’s alright, I am appreciative of the relatively low alcohol.

On tap. Pours with a hazed light amber hue with a fluffy white head that leaves good lace. Aromas are juicy, estery, peachy, stone fruit, mild malt character, a bit musty and earthy with notes of damp leaves. Flavors are juicy with lots of fruity esters (notably stone fruit), medium earthy notes, and a touch of vegital DMS character. Medium bubbles, a bit sweet and flaccid.
