maupie (593), Roosendaal, Netherlands Oct 2, 2002 It is a nice Bock. morebier4me (140), New York, USA Sep 15, 2002 estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA Sep 15, 2002 #300. Very big head, tawny body, sweet malt in the nose. Sweet body with a nice mouthfeel, but the spices in this one didn’t really work for me at first; as the beer warmed, the malts asserted themselves and blended somewhat with the spice. I didn’t really like this one. gbzia (195), Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, USA Sep 6, 2002 No longer being brewed, this was a bit different than the other ’chouffes’. Nice color, good head, and a bit sweet. May still be some around. Kåstå (1149), Mol, Belgium Aug 26, 2002 Brown coloured with a medium head. Sweet malty aroma. Candy spicy fairly carbonated taste. OlJuntan64 (1267), Perth, Australia Aug 24, 2002 Murky medium amber under a light tan medium sized tan head. Medium to strong caramel candy, fruit spices and faint fertilized Belgian field aroma. Surprising medium to light body. Luscious fruity caramely sweet start. Exemplararily balanced bitter sweet palate like most of the other Chouffes. Light dry fruity refreshing finish. If you like fruit flavoured sweetish beers this one is definitely worth a try. Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA Aug 17, 2002 Updated: Nov 8, 2003A sour malty aroma underlined by hops leads you into the strong malt flavor with a slightly hoppy finish. Volgon (2487), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jul 31, 2002 Updated: Jan 7, 2004750 ML bottle: Starts with a bready/cookie aroma, distinctly Belgian. Good size head, orange/fruit taste. Unbelievably smooth. Tasted great with (and in) sauteed chicken.
