COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
CHOUFFE BOK 6666 is a seasonal beer brewed especially for the Netherlands. The "Bok" beers traditionally appear on the Dutch market at the end of September. CHOUFFE BOK 6666 stands out thanks to its coppery robe, its fresh, fruity nose and a pleasant roundness in the mouth, ending with a hint of bitterness.

Bottle brought from Belgium by a colleague at work... This was a mild bock - drinkable, but forgettable...

The beer has a nice bok beer look. The beer pours a thick layer of fluffy almond colored foam. The majority of the foam collapses over time, but a rather thick layer of soft creamy foam remains on top of the beer. The beer has a nice brown color. I can’t see the color of clarity very good, because I’ve poured the beer in a stone La Chouffe cup. The smell of the beer is very nice. The smell has a delicious typical bok aroma. It is both sweet and bitter. I smell a delicious combination of roasted barley, some licorice, caramel and toffee. The bitterness of the roast and licorice is in good balance with the caramel sweetness. Combine this with a minimal sour touch of the licorice and you have wow. The beer also had a good load of alcohol. This gives the beer that typical warming sensation a good bock beer should have. The taste has many aspects of the smell. It is slightly less strong though. There is the little roast and sweet caramel and toffee. The licorice is almost not tastable. The mouth sensation, and than especially the aftertaste, is a bit dry. This is a bit disappointing. The taste and mouth feeling don’t comply with the smell. Besides that, a very nice beer.

A nice and complex bock, with an aftertaste that is strong, bitter and lingers on for a while.

Eindelijk thuis na hele dag Prael, Koelie, Craft&Draft, Paradiso. Over slechte plannen gesproken, trek deze ook nog open ben ik er vanaf. Smaakt naar kastanjes en herfstgezeik. Backlog from 2015/11/01.

On tap at In De Wildman. Deep brown colour. Rich, sweet, prunes, raisins, warm bread. Very soft palate. Pleasant yeast. Bitter and fizzy enough to be drinkable, just. Very pleasant.

33cl bottle at home. Pours a dark brown colour with a tan head. Aroma of candied sugar, plums, brown sugar, malts. Taste is sweet with a medium sweet finish. Notes of herbs, dried fruit, caramel, malts. Texture is sticky with average carbonation. A bit too unbalanced for my taste.

Bottle - Dark reddish brown colour, large but collapsing tan head, lacing. Aroma of cough syrup, herbs, candies, red fruits, dried plum. Taste is very sweet with caramael, candy, herbal hops, dried red fruits. Quite complex, but for me its a bit off-balanced, its too sweet for me. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, sticky texture. Not bad.

Dit bokbier is niet heel bijzonder t.o.v. sommige soortgenoten. Geur is licht koffieachtig. Smaak: koffie, tarwe en rijpe vruchten. Niet heel vol van smaak, maar goed te drinken.

Maybe I'm to much of a Chouffe fan, but this is delicious! Brown, dark, sweet, spicy yet refreshing.
