750ml bottle. Poured with a huge and long lasting frothy, light brown head. the body is a very dark mohogany that is too cloudy to see through. The aroma that I initially noticed was fresh grapes. It also has notes of butter, peaches and herbs. The rich mouthfeel is absolutely exploding with fruity tastes. It has some apple, raisin and even some carrots. The taste also has spices like ginger, thyme and other herbs. This is a very unique beer that makes me enjoy the fall theme. It is a little too sweet and thin in it’s mouthfeel. For a bock it is fruity and less malty than I would have expected. Otherwise this is a very friendly drink that I would not hesitate to suggest to anyone looking for something different. Also, you should read the entertaining story on the back of the bottle.

No longer being brewed, this was a bit different than the other ’chouffes’. Nice color, good head, and a bit sweet. May still be some around.

Tap @ In die Blauwe Hand, Nijmegen. Pours a very clear orange amber with a small creamy off white head. It has an incredibly amount of lacing. Sweet aroma with a light touch of caramel - perhaps even toffee. Round and well-balanced mouthfeel - quite high in carbonation, making the beer fresh and accesible. Lots of caramel flavours dominate, sweetness, peppery bitterness and a general fullness in palate. Great brew!

Draught: Off white foamy head, disappears quick. Dark amber to brown beer. Smell: toasty malts and sugars, bit sweet, some dark fruits. Taste is a very fine mix of sweets, caramel, malts, hops, spices, toasty malts and sugars and some sort of butterish hint.

Also this Dunkel Bock has the taste of it´s brewer written all over it´s face. Roughly balanced but an enormous diversity of taste ending in a small hint of caramel. Brilliant Dunkel Bock, brilliant treat!

750 ml bottle.
Pours a brown colour with a thick but foamy, natural white head. Aroma of sweet malts, resin and nuts. Flavour of sweet, slightly toasted malts, resin, nuts, sweet dried fruits and some hops. Belgian yeast is present as well. Medium bodied, quite dry and sticky mouthfeel with a long warming finish of sweet malts, nuts and dried fruits. A flawless dunkler bock.

Bottle @ Home. Aroma is caramel, spices, light touch of hop and some rotting leaves (in a good way) Flavour is mild hop bitterness, followed by some roast, followed by some caramel and fruit sweetness. Not too sweet, nice touch of spice. Good bok with loads of chouffe character.
