Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 26, 2009 This light gold pour smells of hops. The flavor is fruitier and it goes down smooth. It does retain that essence of the hop flower though. rodenbach99 (678), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada May 24, 2009 750 ml, crown, new at the SAQ, nice blond colour, hops armona, very tasty, nice aftertaste, bitter. finol (475), Nacka (Stockholm), Sweden May 24, 2009 Draught at Oliver Twist.
Pours hazy golden with a firm small head.
Smells of belgian yeast, hops and spices.
A realy big beer but still kind of light and well balanced. hirigalzkar (550), Stockholm, Sweden May 23, 2009 Tap@Oliver Twist. Ap: Golden, semi hazy, small creamy white head. Ar: Belgian yeast, flowery hops. Fla: Hoppy, yeasty, fruity (orange cest, citrus), honey sweetness. Much of everything but not too much. Ov: Big beer in all aspects, still refreshing and easy to drink. Perfect balance! MJGG (400), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 23, 2009 Bouteille verte de 750 ml. TheEnergy (2), England does not count May 22, 2009 I was lucky enough to try this on draught at ’t Bruges Beertje and what an amazing beer. It was helped by the fact I had a ridiculous thirst but this beer is truely impressive. A strong hoppy flavour throughout and remarkably refreshing. There were also spices which complemented the hops well. I would advise picking this up whenever you see it. Quite highly carbonated and one of the more gulpable beers given its strength. To date, probably ranks in my top ten. Bean (16), Quebec, Canada May 21, 2009 A decent/classic belgian tripel calls for a balanced hop/malt/fruity flavor. The bitterness and the alcohol must be the counter taste of the slightly spicy flavor.
Here’s the thing. Not so spicy tripel meets high heels americans hops in a classic La Chouffe Style base.
Wow. It’s Bruxelles DC !
On tap > Bottle Birdiebeagle (778), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA May 21, 2009 Bottle Pours a cloudy yellow with lots of floatie particles. Has a foamy white head which seems to last forever. Good lacing on the glass, like rings on a tree. Aroma of fruit, flowers, and perfume. Is very carbonated. Has a good balance of all the flavors. Not too sweet or to hoppy. Has a dry texture. The alcohol is well hidden. This beer seems to be lighter than it is. A medium body. A decent finish, with a nice aftertaste. This is differnt but tasty.
