Commercial Description:
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

Very earthy, bready yeasty, musty aroma. I think this beer is the epitome of balance. Its got fruitiness, spice, a hoppy bitterness, although i think its more of a English hopping, a bit earthy imo. Very light and dry, perfectly carbonated. Alcohol is nowhere to be found. The hops are not as prevalent as described to me, although they fit in nicely. This is just well done all around.

750ml bottle from total wine in greenville. pours a beautiful, orange gold with a huge, soapy, white head and great retention. aroma is wonderful with big notes of belgian yeast, lemon zest, mandarin orange, herbal spice, nutmeg, and a hint of apricot and grass. flavor was outstanding with big zesty, citrus hops with orange lemon out front balanced by the sweeter belgian flavors of banana, cinnamon, green apple, and yeast with a nutty malt back end and peppery hint on the swallow. finish is dry, with a hint of citrus and sugary sweetness. mouthfeel was medium bodied, dry but extremely crisp and refreshing, with big carbonation.

This is really nearly a perfect big beer. As expected, amazing head retention. The huge hop flavor is dealt with perfectly by the trippel’s dryness. I will buy another bottle to rate again. Amazing.

quite possibly my favorite beer. bummed about the blowout upon opening but was prepared and can’t believe the head. huge lace. uber dry and killer cleanliness. the cali hop and the spicy belgian yeast equals complexity unmatched in any other brew. dont be denied.

Bottle. Extremely effervescent. Popped the cap and it over flowed. Nothing wrong with it, though. Pours a cloudy gold with thick head leaving a lot of lacing. Aroma is not particularly strong, but definitely spicy with some banana notes and hops. Flavor is far hoppier than a normal triple. Plenty of fruitiness to balance it. The hops do a nice job of drying out a sweet style. Alcohol is well hidden. This is an interesting combination of an IPA and triple. Very well done.

75 cl bottle. Nice hoppy flavours, lots of spices, citrus, rather dry. Just the right balance of alcohol

Golden hazy with giant foamy head that lasts forever, aroma of banana mandarin and some herbs, pangency bites your tongue, flavors of grapefruit honey and dry hoppy finish. Great

on tap at papago... hazy straw gold with a wispy white head and a bunch of lacy rings of foam. the nose is heavily yeasty and dusty but simultaneously fresh... lemon zest, straw, freshly mown grass and a mild spiciness. the palate is terribly dry... deliciously terribly dry and full of earthy yeast, lemon, pale malt and green hoppiness to finish it off. the body is average but the mouth feel is prickly and very refreshing. 7/4.5/8/4/16/4
