Surprised it´s 9%, didn´t realise. ¿Hops is gorgeous, malty goodness is perfect, left lace on glass and what more could a woman want? ILoveNewBeer (113), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

I bought this because the dude at John’s recommended this beer. He knows what he’s talking about. Buy this beer. chimplechamp (463), Oslo, Norway

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 29, 2008 So this beer somehow manages to blur the lines of two categories of beer I love...and does it oh so amazingly. The yeast is in there as well as a nice hop profile. Much more interesting then most european hop oriented beers. Truly one of my all time favorites. I will be drinking it till there is no more. nbutler11 (741), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2008 Updated: Apr 10, 2009Thanks to ajm for letting me split this with him. Pours a hazy golden color from the bomber with an obnxious white head of foam that takes at least ten minutes to settle. Fortunately, the beer is worth it. Loaded with citrus (predominantly orange), caramel, yeast, and mild hops. Quite a treat. Re-rated from the tap at Papago and have to note a strong presence of grapefruit citrus in the tatse and a finish that’s very reminiscent of citrus seeds. Still quality, but much more bitter from the tap. trevor211 (504), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 23, 2008 This one - after careful handling and sitting on a counter for about 20 mins - gushed about 1/4 of the bottle. Needless to say it poured with a large, pillowy head. Cloudy light orange. Aroma is delicious - the sweet citrus notes of a tripel with an obvious extra addition of hops. Hops come through even more in the flavor, with very ripe citrus (sweet oranges / nectarines) balancing the bitterness. Absolutely wonderful stuff! elihapa (1044), Honolulu, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2008 Bomber. Pours golden with floating yeast and an exceedingly large fluffy head. Aroma features light flowery hops, yeast, spice, and butterscotch. Palate is smooth, with lighter carbonation than expected given the size of the head. Flavor has complex sweetness on the front palate, with a blend of flower, butter, light orange peel, lemon and a little malt. Finishes with some astringency, tanginess, and alcohol. Finish lingers with a pronounced bitter alcohol flavor far longer than I would have liked, however. It clung to my tongue with a tenacity that I found unsettling. Overall, I must say I expected better from Chouffe after I had searched long and hard for this bottle. In Dobbelen’s defense, my bottle may have been a bit past its prime, so I will consider re-rating if given the chance. masonjer (563), Holt, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 16, 2008 Had this at the Hopcat, thanks to the bros for the brew. Poured a nice straw golden color. Cloudy with a nice white head. Smelled very nice, pine, must, a hint of belgian sweetness. Taste was much the same, super drinkable, very well balanced and what seemed like perfect levels of all things belgian and all things hop. Wish I had this to drink on a regular basis. Tasty!
