Commercial Description:
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

On tap at Downtown Johnny Browns. Yay I am finally through with my one month sobriety. Lots of hops and the belgian yeast I love. Very good.

75 cl bottle poured into trappist glass- poured cloudy golden yellow like wheat straw laying freshly cut, one finger white head slowly disappeared to become clumps on the liquid surface and laced heavily, high-medium carbonation. Aroma of yeast, wheat malt, and unbaked cookie dough. Hits the mouth with a high-light body, malt is light and airy, spices come in immediately and are very enjoyable, sweetness in the background throughout, late middle and finish has nice hop profile. Worth every penny that I spent on it!

Take a Westmalle Tripel, add tons of hops, dry hop, and shake it up. This is it. A very good tripel, hopped to hell like an American Imperial IPA. this is amazing. Great aroma with citrus, Belgian yeast, golden malt. Flavor doesn’t let down. This was a good new idea.

Pours a lemon yellow with a huge white head. Aroma had hops, spice, and little sweetness. Flavor was very well balanced with the hops present but still a little sweet. A great brew.

(750ml) Thanks MartinT! Large white foamy head with a banana clouded body. Tart hops and yeast battle, amarillo bottom. Flavour leads with hops and malt, lemon. Flashes of tart hops. Lovely stuff.

Bottle. Cloudy golden yellow with a huge white, foamy head. Aroma is hoppy with yeast. Flavor is the citrusy and spiciness, blended well with a bitterness. I picked up on the characteristics of an English style IPA. I welcomed changed that is worth trying.

Cloudy orange color with a big fluffy head that leaves impressive lacing. Yeasty, sweet yet spicy nose. Flavor resembles a tripel way more than an IPA.

Bottle from The Raleigh Times. This one had a nice floral hoppy nose with a sparkling golden orange colour that looked great in the tall, thin serving glass. Although I was not overly interested in drinking this at the time (due to this being my 5th high ABV brew of the night) but it was enjoyable. A bit too Belgian and less IPA for my personal tastes but there were some interesting characteristics of this beer. A very lemony tone with some rounded winey fruit flavours popping up. The finish was balanced but it was hard for me to cope with some of the funky earthiness of it.
