750 ml bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow with ample foamy, creamy white head which is lumpy and long lasting. This beer has amazing lacing, each gulp leaves a semicircular ring. A very nice taste manages to taste somewhat double IPA’ish with lots of hop flavors (citrus, pine) but also with some style characteristics of belgian ales. It definitely leans more to an IPA though and is pretty damn good. Darkover (1308), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 30, 2008 Clear yellow then very hazy after the yeast is poured out, with a huge rocky head. Aroma of citrus, caramel and some yeast. Flavor of fruit, some caramel malts, alcohol, and hops. Finish is dry, hoppy and bitter. Pretty good and unusual. haukur (682), Reykjavik, Iceland Jul 28, 2008 Not as hoppy as I would have thought. More like a bomb af a belgian. Fruity aroma, big malty body. VERY good EHopper (274), Minnesota, USA Jul 27, 2008 Never imagined this combination would be so good, Belgian Triple and American IPA. It was suburb. I have always like the flavor of a Triple and the bite of an IPA, now I have both. Letting the foam subside gives a great opportunity to inhale the fruit and hope aroma. The first taste throws quite a lot at you, yellow fruits and spice, pine and green vegetable, some sweetness that goes to dry with an aftertaste of bitters. Fantastic fun. FriarHop (31), Long Beach, New York, USA Jul 27, 2008 I love this Tripel! Definitely one to savor. Pours cloudy with a big billowing head. Big fruits! Superior drinkability! AHHH! wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA Jul 23, 2008 Very good, slightly different than anything I have had before. Has a fruity and yeasty flavor of an excellent tripel, but with some IPA flavor as well. Lightly dry finish. Perfectly balanced. Highly carbonated, the bottle foamed all over the place and took a while to settle. Very drinkable for the strength. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA Jul 22, 2008 Pop the top and we have a foamer, lost most of the neck. Good thing the beer was ice cold and I had just pulled it from the fridge. If it was warmer I probably would have lost half the bottle. A bit disappointing, that’s something I would expect from a homebrew but not a commercial beer. Pours hazy golden with a huge white lasting head. The most notable part of the aroma is the yeasty esters. Underlying these are hops and some malt. Flavor is interesting. Starts off sweet but then turns dry due to the high level of carbonation. Very noticeable bitterness. Very high carbonation levels, It is ridiculous how much carbonation there is after it warms up. Unique and interesting but loses points due to the absurd level of carbonation. changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 22, 2008 Updated: Sep 11, 2008I wasn’t really sure what to expect with the IPA/Tripel thing but this beer was not only interesting to try but also quite good. Pours a golden, perhaps light orange color with a huge fluffy head. Tons of lacing. Aroma is heavy malty with perfume and some light floral hopping. The flavor is fruity, a bit tangy, with yeast and hop bitterness hitting following the fruity esters. Light numbing and a bit dry in the finish. Definitely seems more Tripel than IPA to me but an interesting blend of flavors that really does work.
