A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

33cl bottle at home. A bright, golden yellow coloured beer with some hazy gloom and on top a vast white firm foam collar. The nose is sharp and hoppy, with lingering citrus fruit notes. The taste is full of bitter and malt flavours, although the bitterness certainly wins the plea. It is a massive, strong golden ale with a rather aggressive hopped mouth only sharpened by a vivid carbonation. Not very sublte nor elegant, yet the yeast, herbs and malt notes make their way to the palate. The finish combines that of an American style IPA and a European triple. Nice, but powerfull and unsubtle.

Pours hazy golden with a thick white head that dissipated rather slowly. Very cabinetry with an aggressive flavor. Tart, dry and slightly sweet malty flavor. There are hints of citrus and hops that add to the flavor. There is a sourness that hits the back of the tongue.

Bottle. Beautiful yellow-gold colour, and good aroma of floral honey. A litte aggressive palate disappoints me as compared with the first impressions. I think it would better to be some more low ABV for perfect harmony. However, It is true that the beer is quite well-made hoppy tripel. There is also good flavor of yeast - symbol of belgian ales.

A sweetish yeasty and slight citrusy bitter aroma come from this slightly hazy pale yellow brew with tiny white bubbles rising to form around the edges of the glass. A mild bitter crisp upfront melting into that typical yeasty malty sweetness through out the taste ending in a nice powerful bitter aftertaste that leaves my tongue tingling a bit. This medium bodied brew combines 2 styles, your ipa and a Belgian or abbey style. Good hybrid.

Pours a light golden yellow color with an off white head. The smell is yeast, orange, citrus, grain. The taste is orange, citrus, yeast- fruity dry and crisp. The body is medium- with tight elegant carbonation.

Pajiza clara, un dedo de espuma. Aroma floral y herbal. En boca inicialmente muy amarga. Tras reposo aparecen sus numerosos matices. Miel, flores... Final súper amargo. Es especial.

Beautiful golden, slightly murky pour with frothy head. A: lovely balanced Belgian blonde aroma with a strong pine smell, lemon and lime, faint grapefruit hint, grass notes. Ipa? Not really. Nice, mature and robust aroma: yes. T: tripel style with a very refreshing undertone and strong yeast presence/sensation. Starts fruity with some definite ipa tastes, but very modest and subdued: lychee, pineapple, exotic fruits. Blended with the characterizing La Chouffe taste, which is also dialed back a couple of notches wrt the normal Chouffe (big plus imho!).Development is relatively bitter, but much smoother than popular ipa’s Lemon also starts to swell. Aftertaste is a bit sour and dry, fruit notes. Turns just a bit watery. Great marriage between styles, although it leans more towards the Belgian (yeasty) style of beers than to the clean, crisp ipa’s.

Bottle. Pours hazy banana yellow with medium head. Aroma is hoppy, fruity (pineapple) and Belgian ale. Taste is balanced and develops for a good while. Flavours are yeast, hops, ripe fruits (orange) turning bitter. Quite nice.
