COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

Pours light golden with really high head that stays. Aroma belgian yeast, hops and very nice on the nose. Slightly dry with a medium palate. Very enjoyable. Not Bad.

33cl bottle. Golden colour with small-medium head. It definetely smells like a tripel, and taste is of course quite sweet but with substantial bitterness, some grain notes and a hint of alcohol. Not bad, I like this one although I expected more.

Chudwick (558) - Taylor Mill (KY), FRANCE - APR 4, 2012
33cl bottle - pours murky amber with overflowing off-white head and spotty lacing. Nose is caramel and basement aromas. Flavor is fruity, citrus hops, alcohol, toffee, and a bit nutty. Well balanced between the sweetness of the tripel and the bitterness of the IPA. Burns the throat and going down. Almost dry finish. I did not like the last Tripel/IPA I had, but this , this is very good.

The most interesting thing here is the hybrid of styles. The hops seem very well done, but I wonder if it’s the high carbonation. Either way, very tasty. This one is dangerous because it does not taste boozy at all.

Think of a very nice Trippel but with a kick ass amount of hops - to the point of that skunky nose and bitter, lingering finish.

Bottle. Golden, hazy, average to large and mostly lasting head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, fruitiness - light honey, herbal hoppyness, light alcohol. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, fruitiness, herbal hoppyness, light alcohol. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, some fruitiness, herbal - some grassy hoppyness. Nice, but not an ace Belgian tripel/IPA - 9% is bit too much considering the body.

bottled, nice work by mowbeer bringing this along for xmas drinks. quite a pale shade of golden with a lasting white head; big aroma of wrigley’s juicy fruit, pine and honey on fresh white bread; juicy with hints of menthol, tropical fruit and plenty of bitterness. great stuff

StueyD (662) - Heacham, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, ENGLAND - MAR 31, 2012
Pale orange to yellow coloured beer, slightly hazy with a thick white head. Quite a light aroma. Roasted malts, yeasty ’marmite’ aromas merge with vegetal, grassy notes with a hint of resinous wood. Thick mouthfeel. A bitter taste to start, nutty, woody and malty, then a grassy hop element comes through with a slightly citrusy taste of charred limes! Long citrusy finish.
