Commercial Description:
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

Poured a nice cloudy yellow with lots of white head. Overflowed the bottle and took up most of the glass. Not sure what i was expecting here, but I was very underwhelmed. The aroma was almost non-existent and the flavor wasn’t exactly shining through. I must have had a weird bottle, because if this was supposed to be an IPA, I got almost no hops in either the aroma or the flavor. Weird beer. I’ll have to revisit.

BOTTLE: Beautiful pour, thick white head with hazy golden color. Flavor is a complex mix of fruitiness followed by dry hoppiness settling on the tongue and lasting through the finish.

pours the color of an average wit beer with an agressive white head. aroma is very citrus hop with honey notes. flavor is just brilliant, slightly spicy, citrus from the hops, small amount of residual sweetness in the malt. far too drinkable....but a great bottle to enjoy on a long night alone...

Glowing yellow orange with super great fluffy meringue head. Smell is big lemon and a little rubbing alcohol in there too. Flavor is nice and lemony and big honey. Has a slight presence of hops here that seems to work rather well. overall, not bad - actually quite drinkable.

Forgot to rate this one a while ago. Picked up a bottle at WOB in Tampa. Hoppy but balanced well with the typical sugary sweetness of a tripel ferment.

Bottle. Poured a golden amber color, slight off-white head. Aroma was hoppy, but less so than an English-style IPA. Definite fruit notes to aroma as well, coconut and pineapple mainly. Flavor had a floral hoppiness to it, but with those same coconut and pineapple notes. Finished with a spicy currant flavor, like one could expect from an Abbey ale. A very unique ale here, and I’d definitely try it again.

Bottle shared at tasting thanks to chadspivey.
Pours a bright hazy rich golden color with a lasting white head. Smell is yeasty, hoppy, floray, and dusty. Taste is more hoppy than expected, a bit dry and dusty, and very IPA like, with light citrusy hoppy flavor. Medium bodied. Good stuff, that I’d like to give another try.

Got it in a bottle from World of Beer in Westchase. This beer pours a hazy yellow color with a lot of particles in the beer. It has a bready/ citrusy/ spicy aroma with a thick mouthfeel. It laces the glass right up after hitting you with sour orange bite from start through finish. Good beer, definitely unique.
