slimchill (775), Austin, Texas, USA Jun 2, 2008 Bottle. Beautiful pour. Huge frothy white head sits atop a completely clear golden body. Nose and flavor are both dominated by caramel and hoppy citrus notes. Thick and smooth palate. Light alcohol in the finish.
Aged one year, the caramel notes fade and the sweetness turns to a more bright fruitiness. Well-worth aging. RomanW70 (297), Providence, Rhode Island, USA May 31, 2008 200th rating. Bottle exploded. Lost 1/3 of beer. Pours cloudy gold with a substantial white head. Bready byeasty aroma with strong notes of citrus and spice. taqste has initial components of grass and citrus, but spicy hops take over and lead to a peppery, bitter finish. Definitely an impressive beer. Wish it didn’t spill over. muenster (339), Sevierville, Tennessee, USA May 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a medium sized white head. Aroma is quite hoppy, mostly flowery and peppery, with lots of sweet spicy notes as well. Flavor is quite hoppy as well. The hops definitely dominate over the tripel qualities, which are present, especially in the dry finish. The 9% is completely hidden. OFlan (14), USA May 28, 2008 Wonderful beer. The flavor is that of a nice, tangy belgian abbey type fruitiness that is blended with a massive amount of noble and american hops. This provides a very floral beer, with a full yeast presence and a nice bitterness and tang to it as well. Very complex, very unique.
The one thing absolutely blew me away with this beer was the creamy head. This head was like pure whip cream. WHen you took a sip and shaped to your mouth. When the beer was gone, the head was still a lovely puff of creaminess at the bottom of the glass. Delicious and adds a great texture to the beer overall. Rciesla (3515), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange yellow body with a big head. Aroma is hoppy citrus, banana, coconut. Starts sweet but then is dominated by hoppiness and a big etoh bite at the end. overly hoppy, i dont see the hype here. SchwillyWilly (3), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA does not count May 26, 2008 Great balance between the hoppy IPA and Belgian trippel flavors. Loved this beer. Very unique. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA May 22, 2008 Updated: Feb 27, 2009Volume: 25.4 fl oz * ABV: 9% = 220.5 / 60 = 3.67 beers * 150C = 550.5 C est.

Aroma: fruity, musky, humid, wet. Nice mix. Faint aroma, but delicious.
Visuals: pale golden hazy, immense white long lasting head. Carbonation is a bit overactive, but calms down after some time.
Taste: delicious, rich, hoppy, layered, nicely balanced, slight burn of alcohol. Banana, cloves, pineapple, very hoppy.
Palate: back of tongue, top back, roof. finish is long, dark, deep, and fruity. This marriage of california style hops and Belgian style fruit is an instant classic for me.
Overall Impressions: Banana, cherry, lemon, orange, hops, bitterness. One of my all time favorites.
grandridge (222), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA May 22, 2008 Pours a cloudy gold with a head that won’t quit. Aroma is yeast and hops, spice, and sweetness. Flavor is yeast, nice bitter hops, malt with some fruit (citrus). Very good brew
