BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jan 20, 2008 Great blend of flavors and style on this one...huge billowing cotton-white head that works its way down the glass as you sip. A beer as vibrantly yellow as its label...the flavors and aroma are of caramelized-lemon and floral undertones with a little hop bite at the end. Tons of tiny bubbles trickle up through the mildly cloudy liquid. Very tasty brew. Well done. Tripplebrew (486), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Jan 18, 2008 Pours hazy pale lemon yellow with a lot of thick white head with the appearance of stiff egg whites. Aroma is citrus, vanilla, hops and yeast. Flavor is definite mix of hops and yeast, sweet but peppery. Ends with a bitter bite. Surprising for this tripel because the hops seem to be more prominent than the yeast but it is very well done--balances out the yeast. Light to medium body with medium amount of carbonation. marc03 (10), atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 16, 2008 The aroma is malty and yeasty with a slight hoppy aroma. From the bottle it pours a very hazy yellow with a thick slow head. The taste starts out with a nice malt creamy flavor then hits you with the bitter hoppyness. overall this is a good belgian fusion beer. malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Jan 13, 2008 750ml first pour bottle in Duvel glass. Pale hazy yellow gold with big puffy dense white head and full lace. Hoppy lemon meringue pie aroma with coriander and a tiny hint of soap. Peach honey sweetness with brisk lemon coriander pepper hop spiciness. Medium body and carbo. Too seductive for 9%. Amazingly delicious. One of the best. A new favorite. hoooraybeer (48), Cranford, New Jersey, USA Jan 10, 2008 Poured a puffy white head and a cloudy straw color with lots of floaties. The head stayed longer than any I’ve seen it bobbed on top like a puffy marhmallow through the whole glass.
The aroma is a calm not too malty tripel with little hop aroma-very nice if a little weak.
Flavor is honey with a mild malt/bready signature belgian tripel
An efforvenscent but full mouth feel.
The tripel and IPA flavors are separate, but the transition is easy. You graduate from the tripel to a coriander and then citrus flavor before getting the IPA hop bitter - which is very very well balanced and then lasts but doesn’t sting.
The alcohol definitely warms, but you don’t tate it.
It’s very refreshing for both a tripel and IIPA.
This is a great BEER! jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA Jan 5, 2008 Golden with the most fantastic, angel-white head. Aromas of lavender, sweet fruit like strawberries and cherries, and perfumed yeasty esters. Plenty of body and a powerful, yet balanced, hop presence. Woodsy, floral, downright excessive malts and hops working in unison. Delicious. bobaidan (358), Farmington, Connecticut, USA Jan 4, 2008 Pours gold with an enormous foamy head that lasts forever. Mouthfeel is prickly with lots of carbonation. Flavor is very much as expected, a triple with lots and lots of hops. Sweetness dominates at first followed by a rush of bitterness. Citrus, yeast and a bit of spice are present. Finish is a bit harsh with all the hops. An interesting beer. DirtyMartini (194), Los Angeles, Alabama, USA Jan 3, 2008 ive had it in the bottle and now on draft...i remember it being better in the bottle though...as for this rating, its the draft version. rather sweet upfront with a lingering hoppiness that actually burns the throat a little. was ok at first but became increasingly hard to finish
