Poured into a snifter with typical bartender ineptitude resulting in a lackluster head. An odd yellow-gold colored beer lays beneath the small white cap of foam.
The hops are strong with this one, you can smell the floralness from a foot away. Beyond that, the tripel style makes itself known with aromas of funky yeasty apple, lemon zest, grapefruit, pepper.
The taste is just how you’d imagine something with "IPA Tripel" in the name to be. Hoppier than any other Belgian I’ve had, this beer explodes with floral hops that mingle with the fruity esters and faint boozy finish.
This was a bit flat, but I blame it on the tap, not the beer, and so it gets the benefit of the doubt. Alcohol makes an appearance towards the end.
Pretty smooth and easy to quaff. BuckeyeSammy (455), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Thick white head, unfiltered yellow gold color. Well balanced carbonation! Great beer. Light fruits in the flavor. Great lacing. I need to try this again, one of the best abbey triples i have come across. Loved it thekmoonlegend (93), Lynn, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 24, 2008 Cloudy golden color, decent head. Aroma is of citrus and hops, although I did think it was slightly skunky. Flavor is yeasty, not too hoppy, and a little sweet. It lacks the aftertaste typical of an IPA. This mix was one of the most unique beers I have tried to date...definitely worth trying. tunneler (113), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 24, 2008 My roommate’s review: faint yeast aroma, with something else in there, kinda grainy, hops are there but kinda faint, maybe grassy. kinda bannany, kinda like bananas and grapefruit. Bizarre fruit punch with the fruit you wouldn’t usually put in punch flavor.
I didn’t like it that much either - too much alcohol coming through rocbyter (914), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Aroma of hops and grainy yeast. The saaz are very noticeable. Cloudy golden color with a large white head and good lacing. Moderate light malts throughout the taste with bitterness developing in the middle and lasting until the finish. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Courtesy of KMoonLegend. Pours beautiful, debris everywhere in this murky haze. Head is large and near pure white. Lemon and hops are apparent in the nose which are joined by faint yeast notes - suggesting a mixture of the two styles combined in this unique brew. Not a classic IPA which could disappoint some people who purchase it not knowing otherwise. Taste is sweet (typical of a Belgian ale) and a bit hoppy (ipa) but the hops are not overdone. Finishes slightly dry. Belgian Ale meets Imperial IPA. Though im not a huge fan.. If anything, one of the most unique beers i have had in a while. BOLTZ7555 (1080), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Great blend of flavors and style on this one...huge billowing cotton-white head that works its way down the glass as you sip. A beer as vibrantly yellow as its label...the flavors and aroma are of caramelized-lemon and floral undertones with a little hop bite at the end. Tons of tiny bubbles trickle up through the mildly cloudy liquid. Very tasty brew. Well done. Tripplebrew (493), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 18, 2008 Pours hazy pale lemon yellow with a lot of thick white head with the appearance of stiff egg whites. Aroma is citrus, vanilla, hops and yeast. Flavor is definite mix of hops and yeast, sweet but peppery. Ends with a bitter bite. Surprising for this tripel because the hops seem to be more prominent than the yeast but it is very well done--balances out the yeast. Light to medium body with medium amount of carbonation.
