Bontus (291), Waasmunster, Belgium Aug 28, 2009 75cl bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a very thick white creamy head has a limecolor glow. Excellent lacing. Very hoppy nose. Citrusfruit, grass, spruce, also apple and peach. Well bodied, soft to medium carbonation and creamy texture make for an excellent MF. Somewhat dry aftertaste. Very good beer. TipsyMcStager (900), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Aug 25, 2009 Lovely aroma of citrus, spiciness, hops. Hazy yellow/orange with thick head. Sweet up front, finishes with a dry hoppy finish. Dangerously smooth for 9%. Yum. Nekronos (2261), Xalapa, Mexico Aug 24, 2009 Excellent one, very storng and a little hoppy if you ask me, but a great beer. monkeychugg55 (214), Joliet, Illinois, USA Aug 23, 2009 Pours a cloudy burnt orange with some sediment dancing around and a HUGE, soapy white head that dries like meringue. Amazing sheets of lace coat the glass like nothing I’ve ever seen. Would give this a seven for appearance if I could. Strong aroma of floral and aromatic hops, light cove, some yeast, citrus, spices. The flavor is mellow, sweet and wheaty at first, then spicy and bitter on the finish. Awesome on the palate, floats in the mouth and the finish is wonderful. I am so impressed with this one. DruncanVeasey (2694), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Aug 23, 2009 "Handsom gnome adorned bottle bearing hop illustrations. Anyway. Sweet floral wine gum, lemon and line and pine apple cubes thrown in. Misty and golden fine frothy head persisting even in october fest pint pot. Dusty belgum yeast. Penny chew citrus. Uh. Some hop bite underneath but but but soft and belgum despite us hops. Aroma is yeah, defintfly honey. Um. Yeah. Theres a dash of whats it called . . . . . A tea spoon of barbar. No alcohol. We ll be ducked after this. A slight manure and honey aroma. You got that? That ll do." ( As transcribed by Octo, Pub Antico Beccaria, Firenze). Ingevara (517), Hindås, Sweden Aug 23, 2009 Yes!
The commercial description tells the truth. This is an ezxtremely hoppy beer, very bitter but still light in ts appearance and aroma. A stiff frothy head, grassy fragrance and a long lingering dry - but not drying - finish.
Not a compromise, but a union of different goodies. JulienHuxley (166), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada Aug 21, 2009 Updated: Oct 27, 2009Bottle. Hazy yellow pour with a huge frothy white head looks fab. Aromas of orange peel, passion fruit and floral hops. Taste is spicy and yeasty but with a very refreshing hop finish. Great choice.
