A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

Freakin’ incredible. Pepper and candied fruit on the nose. Absolutely perfect interplay of the light apricot and peach fruit flavors from the Belgian yeast with the flavor and bitterness of the hops. Just enough candy-sweet and chewy malt to match. Long lasting sweet/bitter finish. Thanks McW.

Grass, spruce aroma (maybe slighty cheese like). Yellow-orange colour, a bit cloudy with foamy, frothy head. Light sweetness, light bitterness.

Bottle 33cl. Golden with a nice big white head. Fresh hops aroma in combination with some malt. Bitter taste, but at first a trippel style which has a big dosis of hops. Dangerous nice to drink. Medium length

creamy and has that nice Belgian sweet taste with the hoppy overtone. It works!

Aroma: Lots of hop, flowers, yeast. Appearance: Golden yellow, amber with a big white head that dissapears soon. Only a bit of foam remains. Taste/Palate: Lots and lots of hop, fruit, flowers, slight carbonation. Overall: With three hops, it’s no surprise that hop is a lot of this beer’s taste. The balance is great though, making this beer really nice.

33cl bottle from ales by mail. Poured into a spiegelau IPA glass. Poured clear and golden yellow in colour with a monstrous brilliant white head leaving the glass heavily laced. Aroma is subtle with spice and hops and floral notes come through. Taste is sweet and sour with Classic Belgian flavours evolving. Malty and hoppy but delicately light for the strength. Decent.

Presentation: It was poured from a green 1 pint 9.4oz bottle into a tulip glass. The abv is listed at 9% on the label and there is a nice description on the back. Appearance: It has a tall three finger thick head. This pillowy off white and long lasting head is sticky and leaves lace rings on the glass with each sip. Under the head I see a hazy golden liquid full of yeast sediment. Smell: I get floral hops with some fruity esters and funky Belgian yeast on top of pale malt sweetness. It is a funky hop delight! Taste/Palate: There is a pale malt base with funky yeast and plenty of floral hops with a touch of citrus hops as well. The floral hop flavor and bitterness slowly fades off the tongue in the finish. Lots of soft Champagne like carbonation gives this beer a lively texture in a firm medium body.
