Very full aroma, Belgian candi sugar, loads of flowery noble, yeasty, light orange. First taste is extremely bitter, juicy & chalky, with sweet spicy orange underneath. Hides the 9% well. Full mouthful, milky with larger but softer carbonation. Finishes very dry with a long bitter/vitamin C aftertaste. I think I prefer de Ranke XX Bitter. It is great to burp up noble hops though! Someone get me some cheese! redlight (1522), Winter Park, Florida, USA

I’ve had it countless times. tonight i had it on draft and in the bottle! Yeasty, resiny, sweet aroma. Pours blonde with a huge white head, that looks like foam. Creamy on the tongue, somewhat sweet, with very lovely hop flavor. Dry and bitter, herbal, with a hint of citrus, and a nice finish that lingers just right. Cavie (1521), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 16, 2009 Clear yellow. Light amount of hops. Fruity yet holds the bitter finish attributed to hops. Interesting to say the least. Extremely dry finish however. Meh, this didn’t do much for me. DSG (1515), Tel Aviv, Israel

Cloudy orange-golden with a medium white head. Aroma of citrus hops, some spice, yeast and some fruits (peach, a bit of apricot and a bit of apples). Sweetish flavor, a bit spicy, with some caramel, fruits, and a bitter finish with hops, notes of citrus and spices, a bit of earth and subdued alcohol hints. Nice mouthfeel. Good. jasonp (1514), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Bottle. Attractive clear golden with a thick, billowy white head. Kind of a “dusty” herbal hop aroma, pretty subdued. Flavor is mostly pale malt with ample hop bitterness, perhaps a tinge of Belgian fruity yeast character but not much. Some residual sweetness in there. The hop character is mostly herbal/earthy. I don’t pick up any of the Amarillo or Tomahawk though. medium bodied with a spritzy, lively carbonation. Nice texture. Would like to give this one another try sometime. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA

The smell reminds me more of a tripel, but the hops are there, too. Nice palate, and the hop turn at the end of the drink is a pleasant surprise. I’m sure there are more of these types of brews in the works, and I’ll be interested to see how they all fall out, quality-wise. KyotoLefty (1512), Kyoto, Japan

This is it. A very good tripel, hopped to hell like an American Imperial IPA. this is amazing. Great aroma with citrus, Belgian yeast, golden malt. Flavor doesn’t let down. This was a good new idea. dmac (1511), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Draft at High Street. Poured a clear bubbly gold with a large foamy white head. Aroma was fruity and yeasty with some very noticeable hops that come off fruity but more peachy then citrus. Medium bodied with strong carbonation. The sweetness of the triple is cut by the strong hop presence but highly drinkable.
