750 mL bottle, "Best Before End 2009." Age or enjoy now? The may be not the right point to be considered cellared or new, but it may be my last big beer before vacation. I forget sometimes how deceptively light and golden the Belgian dubbel-tripel-quads are. Big rocky head. Beer is cloudy with visible floaty bits, which I never thought to see in a Tappist-based Belgian. Smell from the bottle is surprisingly grainy, just a whiff of hops. Grainy smell in my IPA tulip glass, too. A peak of foam sits about an inch above the rim like root beer float foam. Foam tastes a bit like an all-grain homebrewed IPA. Finally I can get down to the beer, and find the nice big, golden barleys of a true tripel. Hops are still present, but not to the level of a big American Pale Ale. Guess when this is around two years old, the hop sensation has migrated to the foam. Malt is light and smooth, but does carry the impression of alcohol that warns you to settle and don’t drink too much at once.

Great aroma of Belgian yeast and hops in very fresh combination. Medium head, very durable with great lacing. Hazy lemon colour. Belgian spiciness in taste with quite intensive hoppy and alcoholic bitterness. Alcohol strenght is well-hidden and alcoholic aftertaste is not tiring.

Cerveza de color dorada con una cabeza de color blanco.
Aroma a levadura, lúpulo, malta y especias.
Sabor a malta, fruta cítrica, especias y lúpulo, con un buen sabor amargo.
Cerveza compleja y excelente.
Me gusto mucho.

This is one more beer I will try to clone as home brewer.
This beer seems to me so balanced in aroma, appearance and taste, that for the moment I am saying, that this is one of best commercial beer in the world!

330ml bottle, poured into La Chouffe tulip. A: Pale golden, slightly hazy, two finger head, pretty decent retention, left lots of lacing on the glass. S: Phenols, earth and starch took on and beat the citrus hops in the battle for attention. T: Followed the nose, strong hints of grapefruit, long hard lingering bitterness which was combined with the typical yeast profile of La Chouffe beers, also had a boozy kick. M: Moderate carbonation, fairly light body for the high strength, crisp texture. O: Definitely a Belgian tripel, had more in common with Val Dieu or Straffe Hendrik tripel than any American IPA.

Butelka. Strasznie jasne, slomkowe, zolte piwo. fajna wysoka piana, dosc szybko redukujaca sie. zaczalem pic za zimne i brrrr... po poczekaniu: triplowy aromat z mocnymi, cytrusowo-zywicznymi chmielami. Smak takiz. Klasa.

I really like this ale. The aroma is a very blended hops, perfume smell that has a freshness to it. The appearance is great- very cloudy yellow which almost looks green in the right light.
The taste is a mix of standard belgian tripel (think duvel) but with a citrus dry mix common in american IPAs. The palate is a bit spicy and dry, but overall very refreshing and smooth for 9%. i think this is an accomplished and refreshing beer, that deserves world class ratings for its sucessful blending of styles.

Not sure this quite works. Gold, cloudy, with a foamy white head. Oily, medium body. Main elements are syrup and herbs. Thought this would be great - can’t say it was.
