COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

750 mL bottle, "Best Before End 2009." Age or enjoy now? The may be not the right point to be considered cellared or new, but it may be my last big beer before vacation. I forget sometimes how deceptively light and golden the Belgian dubbel-tripel-quads are. Big rocky head. Beer is cloudy with visible floaty bits, which I never thought to see in a Tappist-based Belgian. Smell from the bottle is surprisingly grainy, just a whiff of hops. Grainy smell in my IPA tulip glass, too. A peak of foam sits about an inch above the rim like root beer float foam. Foam tastes a bit like an all-grain homebrewed IPA. Finally I can get down to the beer, and find the nice big, golden barleys of a true tripel. Hops are still present, but not to the level of a big American Pale Ale. Guess when this is around two years old, the hop sensation has migrated to the foam. Malt is light and smooth, but does carry the impression of alcohol that warns you to settle and don’t drink too much at once.

330cc bottle. Hazy golden and cloudy with a foamy persistent white head. Aroma citrus and pine. Balanced bitter finish. Very pleasant beer. Doesn’t fell like an 9%abv .

This gnome can sit in my garden any day. Looks like sunshine in a glass when poured, slightly hazy light orange with a large, foamy white head. There are some citrusy orange peel aromas, dried apricot, spicy but I can’t quite put a finger on how. He’s a smooth ,medium bodied little guy, with a light but fizzy carbonation. Taste is sweet, with surprisingly little bitterness for an IPA of this strength, although the strength is hidden well. Could be a dangerous one.

Dank. Super dank. Tons of citrus and epic dankness. Taste is really nice. You get the sweet Belgian taste you’d expect with a hoppy bitterness you’d expect from an IPA. Really well balanced beer.

The beer pours a hazed straw colour with a long lasting thin rocky head and ample effervescence. The aroma is yeast, citrus, spices. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is citrusy hops, grains, and a little yeast. The herbally bitter aftertaste is quite good.

Prima dubbele IPA derhalve.

Hazy gold effervescent body with a foamy white thick head. Citrus notes, some pine, orange zest. Great aroma and extremely sessionable even with the higher carbonation. Some very subtle soapy presense comes in the retronasal. Some witbier qualities are here aswell as coriander notes and the body. Really a stylistic hybrid done flawlessly.

A very refreshing double ipa. Very strong citrus flavour and also very sweet. Almost too sweet for my taste but still very good.

At shop in Belgrade. Belgian tulip glass. Cloudy orange with some large peaces of sediment, brilliant texture, nice white foam. Great carbonation. Between Belgian style Ale and American Double IPA. Deliciously spicy, aroma of citrus and some champagne. Excellent and well balanced. Pure luxury.
