COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

75cl bottle. Thanks Kevin, I really owe you for all that beer you left me! Hazy, slightly chuncky orange color...massive whipped cream head. Quite carbonated...thick lacing. Big fruity aroma...bananas, oranges, pear, vanilla, hint of alcohol, hint of medicinal phenols...All things blended quite well. Sweetness & alcohol come through right off the bat, with a big mess of hops offering solid bitterness pushing through at the end. Spicy yeast is kicking everything around. I really dig this mix...what a job blending all this together! I’d like it a bit more attenuated, but I’m nitpicking, I’m loving this beer. Complete with this dollup of foam sitting in the middle of the beer until the end of the glass...awesome tangy brew. No doubt, the best thing I’ve ever tasted from Achouffe.

It has a delicate aroma of mango. It’s a bit hazy, with nice head and good lacing. It’s dark golden color. In taste it has a grapefruit bitterness, small and delicate but with long aftertaste. In the middle of the taste it has some sweetness. It’s so drinkable and so refreshing. There is now way man can feel in taste the alcohol in it.

One of those ales which paved the way for the new ’wave’ of extra hoppy ales in Belgium, in fact one could refer to this as "the first Belgian IPA". Appetizing ale with a thick, creamy head and deep golden blonde colour; light malt sweetness and apple-like fruitiness, dryish with a long, agreeable, aromatically grassy and herbal, but not sharp, hop bitterness in the finish. Already a classic, in my opinion, the prototype of the new "tripel hop" beers which blend the fruitiness and maltiness of Belgian tripel with the hoppiness of IPA.

Pale, straw blonde pour with a big foamy head. Aroma of cloves and spices. Not getting a lot of hop flavours in this one, definitely more of a Tripel with the yeast and spice flavours. A good beer nonetheless.

Pours a light yellow murky colour with great carbonation. Strong hoppy/bitter aroma, some decent citrus notes there too. Citrussy, hoppy flavour, nicely balanced sweet/sour/bitter taste. Goes down smooth with a hint of alcohol, medium bodied, nice sour aftertaste.

Bottle. Hazy, yellow body, small head. Aroma: More tripel than ipa. Medium intense, fruits (from yeasts), spicy. Some noble hops. Taste: Low sweetness with strong bitter finish. Flavor is sweet, citrusy with a bit herbat, bitter finish and quite lot of alcohol. Quite watery for that strenght, very high carbonation. Not much hops in aroma, but still interesting beer.
