3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
*Disclaimer: my cell phone was logged into a different profile when I rated this, thus the duplicate ratings from me and Phictor. Phictor’s rating will be removed shortly* Hazy yellow pour with a nice white head. Aroma reveals a good spoonful of tripel yeast, spicy, cumin and fennel seeds, honey, some grassy hops, crisp malts, cereals and bread crust. Taste is more hoppy than the aroma, EU hops, but also quite yeast forward with and accentuated tripel spicy component. Rather dry and bitter on the palate. Definitely not as estery and sweet as other tripels, which I like.

Best by: 7/17/13
A: orange grain ale with 3-4 fingers white head that falls to a single finger of meringue head. Cobweb lace.
S: triple is really nice and yeasty. Plenty of coriander and grain. Really nice. Noble. Earthy hops.
T: bitter and sweet. Nice herbal hops with hay, grass, tea. Hint of plastic.
M: thick and hi carb. Slick finish.
O: good beer. Last time for me though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
The bitter hits you like a brick wall, but not in a bad way. Good orange, hint of grapefruit. Very full and creamy feel in the mouth. Not a good beer to start the day with, as the taste will be with you for quite some time

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy pale yellow with a huge fluffy head. Lemony and sweet citrus aromas. Flavours hit harder with the hops, but not like an American IPA at all. Very citrus, but not so much grapegruit. Toned down by spices.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
70 cl bottle. (1,5 years past the best before date.)
Appearance: ight orange with a big head , which lasts decent and has a nice lacing.
Aroma, Tangerine, Hay, some typical belgian yeast and alcohol in the backround.
Taste: Quite yeasty but with a hoppy bitterness to compromise, verry smooth dry Finish, no real alcohol showing up in the palate. Not the sweetness or the fruityness of some IPA’s.
In addition it lacks complexity but it’s quite refined as IPA, Belian triple hybrid.
This is a nice interrestring brew. While this bottle was beyond it’s date it does age well like a standard Belgium Triple.
Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Un arôme sucré mais très équilibré et intégré. Légèrement agrumé/résineux. Les houblons résineux explosent en bouche. Loin de la "hop bomb fruitée" américaine, mais très bonne dans son style.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very nice blend of a tripel and and IPA. Belgian hops in the aroma and taste. Average bitterness, but pleasant. Pretty good maltiness, decent lacing.

4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Bottle. Light orange with good head and lacing. Funky aroma. Hay, banana. Balance of sweet, alcohol, and yeast is perfect. So well balanced with the classic Belgian ipa and yeast flavor. Finishes with a citrus bite and very pleasant. So smooth. Definitely one of the best beers ever. It even makes my burps taste good.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle purchased from Surdyk?s and poured into a tulip glass. Taste takes me back to Brussels. Bitter at the onset leading to a malty sweetness and one of the best finishes I?ve ever encountered. Appearance is strong too...lacing lines the glass, deep golden color. Really wish some domestic brewery could replicate this perfect combination.

Belgium IPAs are world class. This tripel is very well balanced. Hay, banana, hops (but not over bitter), earthy in a way that makes me think I can be a farmer and if I was drinking this beer I would be lifting hay barrels in a manly non Takei way. This is the IPA I wish California would strive more so for. Balanced bitter bananas and hay. Love you Belgium!
