Golden appearance and a lovely hoppy freshness. Sometimes organic beers aren’t that impressive but this one was.The freshness would certainly persuade me to try it again.

tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 21, 2012
Tasted this at the Paisley Beer Festival in April 2006. Cask, gravity dispense. Pale amber in colour with a thin off white head. Strong dusty hop flowers evident in the short floral nose. Thin, resiny mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malt base gives a dry digestive biscuit note with sweet golden syrup notes, smooth on the tongue. Strong bitter hop resins clash with the sweet malt to give a resiny bitter aftertaste which clings to the palate. Finish is slightly bitter with floral hop resins adding astringency to the overall flavour. A poor ESB despite the high ABV.

Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, Bath 11/12/07. Orange coloured with a decent off-white head. Aroma of caramel, grain and earthy hops. Flavour was slightly spicy with some pleasing malt. Enjoyable.

Nice beer, although it is a bitter, not too annoying, and has some interesting things, as its colour and some of taste.

Orange, faint haze; poured highly it gives a creamy head for a minute. Peppery nose, some other spices too (galanga?). Nearly tart-tasting hops, much harsher than the spicey hoppiness in the nose. At the same time, I get some honey flavours. No wheat detectable. Typical thinnish British mouthfeel. It does not lack hops - but it does lack taste all the same. Not a bad beer, just quite unidimensional.
