COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pear is a fruit of patience! A pear tree needs 50 years to reach its maturity but will live for more than 200 years. This unique blend of Plant de Blanc, Muscadet, Tricotin, Avenelle and Poire de Grise varieties gives our Poire its typical balance. A delicate marriage between crisp acidity and discreet sweetness.
Its typical lightness and elegance make Poire a traditional drink in Normandy. Its fine bubbles are naturally produced in the bottle. Poire is both refreshing and festive. You will enjoy Poire served chilled in a champagne flute, as an aperitif. It also goes beautifully with shellfish, salads, steamed fish, goat cheese or fruits sorbet.

Pale golden with a small white head, and lively carbonation. Aroma dominated by pear, with a funky note of leather. Sweetish, but tart flavour with some funky notes and a hint of cellar.

Bottle. Yeasty, slightly over ripe pear aroma. Cloudy yellow with a fizzy, quickly dissipating white head, suspended yeast sediment. Sweet tart ripe pear, pear skin flavor with a dry finish. Light spritzy body, champagne-like. Overall, I found it quite enjoyable, and not too sweet.

Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s an almost clear perry, very pale yellow in color and with some white bubbles at finish. The aroma has more orchard than pear, but there’s sure some pear present. A bit on the sugary side maybe. It’s quite acidic and tart, but there’s still a good dash of residual sugars left. Pears, orchard and some fruitsugar in the flavor. Medium body fullness. pleasant carbonation. An easy drinkable and tasteful perry sure worth a revisit. 121124

TAR (2346) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - OCT 7, 2012
375 mL bottle: Nearly colorless liquid splashed with yellow. Noisy, dying head. Waxy, perfumey aromas on elegant display, with hints of mushroom, lime zest, fresh cut pineapple, artichoke and uncured hay. Pleasingly musty but not overly wild or rustic. Hugely effervescent and gassy mouthfeel. Prickly lime zest and pineapple acids very gently buckle the cheeks before converging with a pronounced vitaminlike dullness. Pear skin offers a snappiness which coincides nicely with the bracing dryness. Adequate level of residuals keep things from becoming stark, though the absence of phenols causes things to be two-dimensional. Pear character is not particularly ripe or explosive either, which reinforces the yearning for greater depth and vibrancy. Closes with a peppery, zesty dryness laced with succulent pear juice remnants and a healthy dose of musty minerals. The framework is definitely here, but ultimately it comes across as a bit too "simple". And there is also an unpleasant moldy/uncured hay character that is somewhat off-putting. Those folks looking for something bretty and barnyardy, might want to look elsewhere. Just okay.

750 ml bottle from Randall’s. Pours a pale, somewhat hazy yellow-gold with a head comprised of larger bubbles that dissipate immediately. Small rising carbonation bubbles proceed for quite a while and some yeast sediment gathers in the bottom of the glass. Aroma of pears and lots of them, lighter floral and earthy notes and just a hint of barnyard-type funk. Flavor of tart pears, lemons, floral notes, and white grape skins. Light-bodied, with a tart, dry, earthy mouthfeel and high, fizzy carbonation on the palate. Really satisfying on a warm summer night. Well-made. Hit the spot.

Pours a clear and very pale yellow perry with a weak white head. The aroma is fruit, pear, weak sulphur and weak acidity. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is sweetness. Overall a good perry.
