Dark red / brown in color. Head is an off-white, thick and rocky. Delicious malt flavors abound. Sweet maltiness dominates, as one would expect from a strong bock beer. This one is satisfying and doesn’t disappoint. The perfect springtime companion. One of the better bock beers available in the region at any price.

Mar 7, 2008 Cloudy brown color with ruby highlights. Cream-colored head. Strong aroma of caramel and bread. Taste of caramel, bread, some chocolate. Nice beer.

Feb 27, 2008 Bottle thanks to jsquire. Poured a cloudy deep brown color with a moderate beige head that diminished to a ring. Aroma of brown sugar, biscuits, and light fruit. Sweet brown sugar and caramel entry leads into a smooth finish with fruity undertones, namely apple, and possibly a hint of plum. Pretty creamy and smooth. Simple, but a nice doppelbock that is easy to drink. Thanks Jeff.

Dec 20, 2007 Bottle. Aroma bready and caramel. Poured a dark brown. Flavor was toasted malts and grassy hops. Palate was sticky and sweet. Overall, okay just not one I’d seek out again.

Nov 28, 2007 Dark brown, very little head. Nice chocolate and caramel aroma and flavor with nice bready roasted malts. Pretty smooth.
