1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Benzai (2711) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - JAN 5, 2012
Old bottle found hidden in Joes’ basement. Clear amber color, virtually no head. Smell a lot of herbs: cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg? Don’t know really, bit it’s a mix of herbs or spices! Taste spices and herbs as well! Yuk! Absolutely don’t like this! It’s like some kind of cough-syrup. Not my beer at all!
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Koelschtrinker (7054) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 30, 2011
Etwas karamellig. Kein wirklich besonderes Bier aber immerhin ok. /8/9/8/7/7

Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
Pours deep chestnut with a fizzy, off-white head. Settles as a thin rim ’round the side of the glass. Malty caramel and roasted aroma, lots of cinnamon and cloves. Medium carbonation, good, light mouthfeel. Flavour is mild, some spiciness, light roasted. Long, lingering, bitter aftertaste. Good, but there are so many better BSA’s.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAR 23, 2009
(33cl bottle) Hazy, reddish brown colour with a short tanned foamy head. Sweet deep toasted malt profile with a mild spicy background. Sweet flavour with a light burnt bitter touch, full bodied with a rather flat carbonation. Toasty malty taste with cinnamon and lavender, leading into a flat, moderately spicy finish. Most probably it is already over the edge (22.III.09).
