zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Sep 14, 2007 (draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Cloudy orange color with a thick and puffy tan head. The aroma smells like burnt plastic that’s been cooled off and put in coffee can. Way too dry and bitter. Flavor is exactly the same. Way too dry and extremely bitter. Flavor clings and doesn’t go away. Absolutely disgusting. sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 13, 2007 12oz (or thereabouts) bottle purchased from LCBO in Toronto. Pours a slightly cloudy blonde with little lacing. Aroma is decent. The initial flavour is a solid lager with the good hops and with a very nice aftertaste that fills the mouth. This one was pretty nice.
Maltybones (60), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Sep 9, 2007 330ml Bottle. Love this beer. Pours very golden with a great frothy head and high carbination. Aroma is a nice blanace of citrus and malts with grassy notes. Flavour is initially very hoppy and bitter with a slightly sweet finish. The weight of this beer in the mouth is much fuller than one would expect from the style of beer. Brilliant. The only down side is that the batches can be slightly inconsistent, with the odd bottle tasting over hopped. JustinBathurst (134), Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada Sep 5, 2007 Pours a hazy brown-orange with a small white head that doesn’t really lace.
The aroma is celery, brown sugar, and a lot of peach.
The mouthfeel is slightly creamy, with low-medium carbonation.
The taste is quite hoppy with a big bitter bite, some astringent aspirin, burnt cookies, and grapefruit. The slightly higher alcohol content lends some warming to it, but it is not otherwise discernible.
All in all, a pretty good beer. I’d purchase this again happily. wilderthanyou (407), Guelph, Ontario, Canada Sep 4, 2007 The best pilsner Ive tasted so far. Pours a golden yellow with a thick froathy head that has good retention. Floral aroma with big notes of oats and malts. Well balanced flavours of hops and malts, with some grains upfront, honey sweetness in the middle and hoppy piney bitterness in the finish. Medium Bodied, Dry finish, a rather strange pilsner but top notch all around. matt7215 (942), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Sep 3, 2007 Updated: Jun 2, 2009swingtop bottle. poured hazy golden with a good sized white head that leaves nice lacings. yeasty aromas with hops also in the nose. flavours are really hoppy with a very bitter finish. very nice beer all around. i could drink boatloads. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 03/05/1998

OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Aug 22, 2007 330 ml bottle best before end of 06/2008. Hazy golden amber colour with a fully lasting frothy, creamy, and rocky white head. Biscuit, bread, honey, herbal, lightly grassy, and lightly spicy aroma. Crisp biscuit and bready malt flavours with a big herbal, perfumed, grassy, and lightly spicy bitter finish. Light to medium bodied, crisp and juicy mouthfeel, very drinkable. Easily beats Urquell at its own game - though I expect both would be better closer to home.
