porterhouse (1148), Alna, Maine, USA Mar 19, 2007 (11.2 oz. bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=30668 target=blank>IrishBoy, thanks Richard!) Not a mind-blower but pretty tasty...Poured into my Rogue Morimoto pilsener glass (always love a chance to use this) a hazy medium-light gold with about 3" of kind of foamy off-white head. Pungent aroma of honey and sweet hay. As head recedes I pick up some more hoppy aroma - pine-like. Mouthfeel fairly smooth and light to medium full. Patchy spots of lacing. Flavor is mostly the honey and hay maltiness but is more muted than aroma. Some piney hop bitterness sneaks in toward finish. Some dark stuff at the bottom of the bottle produced a wine-like richness, Belgian-like, in the last few quaffs. Pretty nice. DruncanVeasey (2690), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Mar 16, 2007 Deeply hazy like a Hefe. Potently leafy hop snout. Plenty of chewy, grainy, piney hop bitterness. And then some. Flavour-packed, commendably hoppy, but ultimately a touch one-dimensional. Adenila (931), Denmark Mar 15, 2007 Golden with a huge white head. Aroma of hay/grass. Some sweetness and citrus in the flavor, with a heavy pilsner bitterness and a warm finish marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA Feb 27, 2007 Fruity, haylike aroma. Pours golden orange with a frothy head. Flavor is a bit bitter, somewhat dry, with citrus lemon accents. Palate is lightly creamy with a bitter finish. Good. BleacherBum (176), Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA Feb 22, 2007 Copper orange color. Creamy, thick, off-white head. Aroma of pine and citrus. Creamy mouthfeel, full body with nice flavors of citrus hops and malt. Spicey and a bit bitter at the end. A very nice pilsner. Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Feb 21, 2007 Updated: Jun 23, 2008330 ml bottle. Pale body with a white head. Discreet aroma. Rather thin malty, and a bit harsh bitter flavor, also a hint of alcohol. Not particular harmonic IMO. Slayer85 (582), Firenze, Italy Feb 14, 2007 Bottled. A cloudy orange beer, with a compact and persistent head. The aroma is grassy and a little citric. The flavour is hoppy, very fruity and flowery (grass, lemon, citric fruits). Medium bodied and very bitter finish that lingers in your mouth for long time. Excellent stuff. faroeviking (6016), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Feb 14, 2007 Bottle. Hazy deep golden colour with a nice medium mostly lasting head. Good lacing. Bit spicy and hoppy aroma. Refreshing flavour of malt, bit sweet, hoppy, bit spicy. Some bitterness in the finish. Very tasty pilsener indeed!
