Past the butteriness that I and other mention, there goes this tiny little lilting sour hay. This has got hop and malt pouring out. Fantastic. Original: I think joey_c nails it here - this is herbal hop heaven (Saaz and...something else...spicy Hallertau?), but also very buttery, with even piney bitterness. Lovely lovely stuff; full body (although I was expecting even more), excellent handling of the alcohol (when most lagers approach 6% they get stinky, IMO) - delicious and big thanks to radiomgb! Pilsner malt was evident in the nose, of course. Lots of hoppy aroma and flavor. Very full palate. Almost on the sweet side. I don’t remember that date on the bottle, but there was some oxidation setting in. Tastey all the same. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

Hazy golden body with medium sized, frothy white head. The nose is well balanced blend of doughy, honey malt and earthy, herbal hops. The taste is just about perfect. Just a touch of sweetness, lots of bitterness, very hop forward with a nice taste of spicy herbs. Malts are doughy with a touch of cotton candy and honey. Finishes with clean yeast and solid, lasting bitterness. Medium body is round and smooth with moderate, tight carbonation. Brilliant. An absolute classic. Jerre (1768), Waregem, Belgium

Pours out a nice blond / yellowish color. Cloudy, not like typical pils that I see here. Smell is fruity, yeasty, and sweet with some grass flavors and a tiny bit of hops. Taste is lively in carbonation, sweet, easy to drink with a nice dry finish. This beer was really good and a nice surprise that I wasnt expecting. Thanks for the recommendation. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 16, 2006 Darker golden body with mini floaties. Smaller white head. Aroma is saaz hops with some citrus and floral notes, reminds of good wheat beers. Hoppy flavour with some sweetness in the malts for a nice balance. A tad of spice on the end. This is nice pil.
