The aroma of hop is all around, also some fruits, like grapefruit. The taste has a nice bitterness. In the background some sweet, not to much. A very good beer for a warm summerday. I thought that the beer, in the past has more bitterness. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 17, 2006 11.2oz bottle. Hazy golden/straw color with a nice large white head. Grassy, lightly hopped aroma with some nice pale malt notes. Beautifully balanced flavor of pale malts with honey and fresh bitter hops. Perfectly carbonated. Goes to show a beer does not have to be big and thick to have a great body. eczematic (1215), Sydney, Australia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 6, 2002 Updated: Jan 6, 2004very bitter - but in an aley sorty of way - grapefruit and mandarin. crisp and dry and drinkable. nice shade of green in colour. but not the most amazing pils i've had. rer8: i make that the fifth bottle i've had - every time i come at it hoping to like it, but every time it's just a bit too thick and unrefined in mouthfeel, although nicely bitter. the hops are pinier than i like in a pils too. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 10, 2004 Small sparse floaties, puffy white head. Herbal, hoppy, fruit nose. This is a very well designed beer. Perfect pale malt balance supporting an onslaught of delicious hop flavors. Pleasant berry like fruitiness, sticky pine hops. This is a very nice brew! moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 12, 2008 overflows when i open the bottle. after a resonable wait, it pours hazy amber, big rocky head, decent lacing. aroma of malt with a bit of mustiness. flavor seems floral and mild vegetable. medium bodied, dry finish. i do not get a lot of hops in this one. not very exciting. single bottle from binnys beverage depot in orland park. porterhouse (1165), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 19, 2007 (11.2 oz. bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=3 target=blank>IrishBoy, thanks Richard!) Not a mind-blower but pretty tasty...Poured into my Rogue Morimoto pilsener glass (always love a chance to use this) a hazy medium-light gold with about 3" of kind of foamy off-white head. Pungent aroma of honey and sweet hay. As head recedes I pick up some more hoppy aroma - pine-like. Mouthfeel fairly smooth and light to medium full. Patchy spots of lacing. Flavor is mostly the honey and hay maltiness but is more muted than aroma. Some piney hop bitterness sneaks in toward finish. Some dark stuff at the bottom of the bottle produced a wine-like richness, Belgian-like, in the last few quaffs. Pretty nice. Goodgrief (1161), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 20, 2008 Beer pours...um, like dark orange(?). The darkest pilsner I’ve ever had, for sure! The aroma is sweet malt and maybe even some fruitiness. The flavor is sweet floral notes and fruity malt that was really sweet with maybe even a touch of sour, caramel malt and a nice rounding out bitterness. This beer is very atypical for style. I enjoyed it...and would have given it hugely high ratings if it only had more funky grassy type hops in there so typical for the style.
